Painted boardgame minis!
This is a break from my norm. But wanted to show them off either way.
Hope this Monday is treating you well and if not that you are finding whatever resilience, support and encouragement you need.
These are characters and monsters from Bardsung, an amazing and immersive dungeon crawler/brawler by Steamforged Games that I backed on Kickstarter. I was inspired by many much better paint jobs posted by other players and gave it a go for myself. It's been many years since I painted Warhammer models in my teens but my hands remember some of the knack.
I've barely painted a third of the models in the game, there are a LOT of monsters...
Sir Terry Pratchett - pencil and charcoal on A4
In case you don't know of him - He's the prolific and well loved author of the Discworld series, Good Omens (with Neil Gaiman) and many other things. Sadly lost to us in 2015 thanks to early onset Alzheimer's (an embuggerance, in his words). Go and read his books.
If you already know who he is then good for you! Though I would still recommend you go read his books. Again.
I drew him because he's one of my heroes. I wanted a big portrait on nice paper that I could frame and put on the wall instead of my usual sketchy things in notebooks. This is the first big piece of physical art I've done in a while and I love how it's turned out.

I'm looking for commissions! Message me if you want me to draw a photo of you, a loved one, a pet. Prices start from £50 for an A4 portrait with a single subject.

Digital eye tutorial
I'm really excited to have a new drawing tablet! (Thanks Mike) I've not used one much before so here's a taste of what it can do. This is from following a tutorial and it's turned out better than I could have imagined possible. I highly recommend the Ultimate Digital Painting course on Udemy.
Eyes are pretty fun and rewarding to draw huh?
Footbridge after the rain - watercolour in progress
Being back in lockdown has made it a challenge to find time for artistic pursuits. I'm focusing my efforts on homeschooling and quality family time, so I choose to veg out most evenings. Now January is on the way out and we're all a bit more used to the new rhythm, it seems like a good time to pick up again. This one has sat out for a long time now - it was fun to work on and I learnt a whole lot in the process but I'm a bit tired of it taunting me from my easel. Probably time to call it done and move on to something else. Any feedback welcome!
Hope you are all coping well out there.

Another nice one of my noisy boy on some textured paper - shouting for some reason. This is fairly common!
Its been a busy weekend/week - finally got around to posting this! The last of the 4 family pics: my eldest boy and his amazing hair.
The other half of my Dads request, his kitty cat. This is Sullivan, looking regal and alert. He's probably hoping for a meal here as well.
I'd really love to draw something for you :) If you're looking for gift ideas, or just want something special for yourself then please consider commissioning me. Or if you know someone else who might be interested, please share my page with them.
Thanks!
