Need to get my sketchbook finished tonight so I can post it tomorrow for the sketchbook project.
New year, new blog...
I decided a while back that I wanted to transfer to Tumblr for blogging rather than blogspot. A number of friends have recommended Tumblr and I’ve become an Instagram fan and noticed you can link posts to Tumblr. So here goes....
Little Northern Christmas fair today at Altrincham Boys Grammar School. Come along & buy some beautiful hand crafted gifts direct from the makers. It's only 17days until Christmas!
Hmm I thought my twitter posts were linked to my page...apparently not. Time to fix this little issue I think...
Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair
This made me giggle :)
It seems that the GNCCF is the source of several marital discords. Going the through the public evaluations came across this feedback:
In answer to the question Who did you visit the GNCCF with, a male ticked the spouse partner box then added underneath.."But not for much longer". EEK.
Another (male again) responded to the question DId you eat in Spinningfields with "Normally we do put my wife is being a pain in the arse so we are going home!!" ( Not the same chap as above btw!!)
And another ( sorry male again) in response to the question how much did you spend on craft.... "Wanted to buy a piece at £1200 but my tight bag of a wife wouldn't let me".
And I thought craft was the source of all harmony.... So here's some basic rules for craft buying:
1. Come with friends, not partners then they can't stop you from doing things ( males included) like buying and eating out and having a lovely day out type of thing
2. Lie to your partner on true cost of work - "Oh this? It's just a bit of resin, bargain £20! ( don't mention its impregnated with black diamonds)
3.lie and say it's a paste diamond and pretend to break your tooth on it
4.When the man wants to spend. LET HIM!
5. Make sure he spends on you before the break up.
6. When a man offers to go out for dinner it means YOU DON"T HAVE TO COOK. A result anyday in my house...
7. Don't work in craft because a) you can't afford to buy anything mega expensive and b) your partner knows the true value of craft so you can't fob him off with the line "Ah this...got it at Accessorize...and c) he knows you NEVER buy stuff from Accessorize. On principle.
Any more rules out there?

My first project of final year study which was inspired by texture and form found within gardens looking in particular at stonework and rockerys. I went on to add a further element to the project by adding shape and patterns based on formal garden designs.
In my second year I did a project inspired by snow, the textures and patterns created through human and animal impact, thawing and freezing. It was a challenge to work entirely in white but I succeeded and gained my first A grade for an embroidery project - hurrah!
