Burning Light Arts

Block printing with Year 5's at Queensgate Primary School was a real treat this May, focusing on Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night'. The workshops were greatly enhanced by the pupils previous explorations of 'Twelfth Night' and set building. We looked at mood, colour, culture and era in set illustration to create a series of prints.

So far 2023 Schools' projects and commissions have been as varied as they have been rewarding! Every project feels like a privilege!

Earlier in the year Rosewood Primary School used the theme of water for a whole school project. I developed projects for years 2 to 4, including 2 colour reduction block printing, salt wash texture and ink drawing, and 3D wire work with collage.

Ollie the 6ft rubber octopus has finally died. Consigned to the bin in multiple pieces, he has been around for many years and has travelled widely to be in a number of exhibitions. Bless his rubber soul, he even attended my wedding last year... his last outing. Sad but I have a bit more room to move in the studio now!!!
