We repair chairs so you don't need to buy a replacement. It pays to renovate!
What an amazing transformation! Recently redelivered to our customer after a recover in Sekers Palazzo velvet in Wineberry and Jet these chairs now have such presence!
Yes they really are the same chairs!
There are still very many Ercol contract chairs in education establishments giving continuous service since their purchase sometimes as far back as 1960s,
Their robust wooden frames are still going strong with only the fabric and webbing needing attention. We still see many of these over the summer closure. It never ceases to surprise us what an amazing difference a change of fabric and some new foam can make to these chairs.
Anyone who has sat in a school staffroom over the last 20 years will be aware that the webbing on these chairs stretches with age and can even snap, leaving the user perched precariously on the remaining webs hoping they don't fall between them. This is an uncomfortable experience but one that is easily solved with new webbing. So if you want to sit comfortably rather than perch, contact us.
The chairs shown here were recovered in Camira Mainline Plus fabric, re-foamed, re-webbed and returned to the customer to give many more years service.
The Orangebox/Giroflex G64 task chair is a robust and comfortable chair so why are some organisations disposing of them rather than refurbishing them?
These chairs were recovered in Camira Xtreme crepe fabric and sent back to the customer to use for many more years.
Element 3 - Aesthetics & Comfort - A key element to consider when planning seating for a school staffroom.
Colour can make a big difference to the atmosphere of a room so use calming colours and comfortable materials to create a pleasant space.
Choose plants and pictures to complement the space and set the tone
Choose furniture and fabric that is easy to clean and maintain to ensure your room stays looking better for longer.
Element 2 - Ergonomics - A key element to consider when planning seating for a school staffroom.
Many staffrooms contain a working zone with desks and chairs. As in any workspace there are a few things to consider:
1. Adjustable Chairs - Ensuring chairs are adjustable to accommodate different body types and preferences.
2. Proper Support - Chairs with good lumbar support to prevent back strain.
3. Desk Heights - Appropriate desk heights to ensure comfort while working.
Key Elements 1 - Seating
Designing a school staffroom requires careful consideration to create a comfortable and functional space for teachers and staff. Providing a variety of zoned seating options is key .
Comfortable Sofas and Armchairs: for relaxation and casual conversation.
Dining Tables and Chairs: for eating lunch and having group discussions.
Workstations: with adjustable ergonomic chairs for marking, lesson planning, and administrative tasks.
High Tables and Stools: For quick meetings or standing work.

Creating a good impression with your students.
Before and after....what a difference a recover makes. And how much more comfortable the users are now.

New contract tweed fabric from the extensive ranges made by Camira Fabrics
How would you view an organisation whose chairs looked like those on the left? What impression would the chairs on the right convey? What do your chairs say about you?
This school didn't need to replace their chairs as the frames were sound. New fabric and foam made them look as good as new.
Many educational organisations are unaware that they can repair and recover their seating. There are some compelling reasons why they should:
* Health and safety for staff and students - is the seating safe?
* Longevity and cost-efficiency of their seating - why buy new when the old can be refurbished?
* Image - how your visitors view your site can have an affect on your reputation
* Improved learning environment - everyone knows that you feel more relaxed (and more valued) in a well maintained space
* Inclusivity and accessibility - adapt your seating to ensure that it meets the needs of all.
Where budgets are being continually squeezed, repairing your seating can make more sense than buying new.

In healthcare settings hygiene is paramount and replacing the fabric or vinyl on your seating can significantly contribute to the prevention of contamination.
