π Micro-needling π What is it? Microneedling is otherwise known as βCollagen Induction Therapyβ. This treatment involves a device being moved over the skin to create lots of microscopic channels. What does it do? This treatment creates a wound healing response within the skin which stimulates the body to produce new collagen and elastin plus new skin cells. Skin cell renewal slows down as we age so anything to stimulate this is going to keep our skin looking young and fresh! What is it good for? Fine lines & wrinkles Skin texture Pigmentation irregularities Pore size Skin tone Scarring Eeeesh, why is it so red? Is that not bad for you? No! We want the redness! If you were ending this treatment with the same colour skin as you came in, there wonβt be a wound healing response taking place and none of the effects would happen! This redness is EXACTLY what we want. Whatβs the healing time? Redness reduced within 1-2 days maximum. You can resume normal skincare routine within 3 days post treatment. When will I see benefits? See next post for results!! After one week - improvement in skin texture and tone After two weeks to three weeks - pigmentation issues can improve Six weeks - improvement in fine lines, wrinkles and scarring Does it hurt? No, not really. I numbed my face for this and felt nothing much other than when I was near the eyes - I wasnβt very thorough with my numbing agent! Is it safe? Completely safe! Non invasive, minimal downtime and non surgical. How many treatments will I need? It varies depending on what we are treating. As a rough guide, see below...
