Cuxton Social Club
Somewhere to meet friends old and new, while enjoying your favourite tipple.
Please see a really positive report on the current progress of one of our darts teams and their quest for league glory!
The Cuxton darts team has made a stellar start to the season, securing victories in our first three league matches with an impressive and consistent scoreline of 9-4. These wins came against strong competition: Malling Club ‘A’, Teston Club, and Malling Jug. This winning streak has been energised by fresh talent joining our ranks, giving our team a new edge. A warm welcome to our new players, Nick Feeney, Pep, Aiden, Andy, and Jay, who have brought energy and skill to the team. They join our seasoned lineup of Dave White, Chris Ward, and Steve Payne, as well as our dedicated captain Martin Page, ably supported by his patient and supportive wife, Trish.
Our latest match took place on Tuesday, 5th November, as we faced Snodland Club ‘D’ in a cup game. Although the evening began with a bit of tension as we dropped the first two games, our team held steady and refused to let early setbacks dampen our spirits. Despite these early losses, which didn’t reflect the level of play we put forth, we turned the game around with a strong finish. Rallying as a team, we powered through to win the next four games, securing a 4-2 victory and advancing us to the next round of the cup. Special credit goes to the players who clinched the final games: Aiden, Pep, Nick, and another win from Pep to seal the deal.
The Snodland Club ‘D’ team were good sports throughout, making for an enjoyable evening full of competitive spirit and camaraderie. Next week, we look forward to an away match against The Old Rectory in Leybourne. With the team’s energy and confidence at a high, we're excited to keep our winning momentum going!

IMPORTANT NOTICE - please read re; tonight's event - Cuxton Parish council fireworks and band event in the hall etc;
We are aware the fireworks are on this evening which brings in a great deal of traffic to the village. We have had to shut one side of the car park as we have the Duvet Dogs band in the hall, playing all the favourite party rock anthems, which will be open to all including our members.
However, we would like to give priority to our members, and are having a members only entry into the members bar tonight. Please remember your card as this will gain you entry. There will be one guest signing in tonight per member to enable our members to have priority seating and priority service at the bar. As a committee, we value our members' support throughout the year and feel this is a benefit to you.
The children's room will be closed as there is an issue with the monitor in the bar, and we can't guarantee that parents will be able to monitor their children from outside of the room. A reminder at this point that all children at all times are the responsibility of the member that brought them into the club. This includes ensuring the removal of muddy footwear especially at the weekends, and ensuring that all snacks are purchased at the bar and not brought in for consumption.
Have a great evening!
Your Committee
