🚗 2024 Racing News 🚗

We are delighted to announce that Simon will be joining the reigning FunCup champions, Team Olympian, for the Fun Cup Championship, marking a significant move in 2024.

Joining the experienced drivers Christopher Dovell and Riley Phillips whilst running under the works JPR team who ran the top 3 championship cars in 2023 and have years of experience working on and running championship winning cars.

A lot of work has been done over the winter to make the deal possible and we can now focus on retaining the title in what looks to be one of the most competitive seasons in Fun Cup history.

“I would like to thank Chris and the Olympian team for his time, patience and ultimately the decision to bring me in. It was a no brainer from the moment the idea was floated. Last year was my first season in Fun Cup with the 103 AxiaMetrics / Team GRD and I learnt so much in a small amount of time. I would like to thank Chris Wetherill for making last season a success and for his support in my move across to Team Olympian”

2024 also sees us enter our 3rd season with main partner, GRD Lifts & Engineering Services Ltd and we will see the car in their colours and livery for the upcoming season.

The great news is that we have the continued support of our existing partners Jackson Lift Group , ESL Lifting Gear LTD , The Vertical Transportation Studio, Lester Control Systems Ltd, DJmotorsport Ltd and The Lift Box. With the livery to be revealed, Grayers Graphics - Van graphics and printing shop. will be keeping that top secret.. for now..

So our first season of FunCup comes to an end! It’s been a season of highs and lows but all in all great fun.

With the exception of a couple of mechanical gremlins at the start, followed by being on the rough end of penalties in the later rounds, I think we can be really proud of how far we have come as a team - fighting right at the front in the second half of the season.

Big thanks to my partners in crime, Chris and Neil, for pushing the car to its limits. Lawrence, Will and Alfie for looking after the car and James for dealing with the rubbish we talk about over the radio.

Also, without my amazing partners, family and friends none of this is possible. A huge thanks to everyone who is part of the journey.

It’s now time to regroup and focus on 2024!
