I was always s**t at football
Despite being unlucky enough to be born into a family of Tottenham fans
I always loved football as kid & was always desperate to have a kick about
But I was really s**t 😂
So while my friends where all playing football
I was trying other things like rugby & martial arts.
I started doing jiu-jitsu when I was 7
& I wouldn’t say was really talented or anything
But I liked it & took to it pretty well.
So the dream of playing football faded away
Along with any hope that Spurs will ever win anything
& I just stuck with what I was half decent at.
After years of trying different things out & at times not doing anything at all
I finally stuck with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
I’m still not super talented
But I love it & I turn up enough to keep getting better

It’s been 2 years since I last went on holiday & I really needed a break.
A lot of good stuff has happened over the last couple of years
We moved house last year, my boy Leo was born
& I launched my online coaching business 💻
Going away just didn’t really seem important.
Instead I put the spare money & time I had into education
So I could learn how to build a successful online business.
This hasn’t been easy, especially with 2 young children & my PT business
& while I’m still nowhere near where I want to be
The work is starting to pay off & more people are putting their faith in me to help them.
There’s still so much I could be doing to take things further
So it was a good time to take some time off
Spend some time with the family to clear my head & think about what’s next

What’s great though, is that as Donna has seen the plan is working

I've been working with Donna for a couple of months & things are going great
Donna trains hard, regularly doing jiu-jitsu, wrestling & weight training
However she’s always been unsure how to approach the nutrition side of things.
She's always found conflicting information, that just made making changes to her diet confusing.
Despite this she did have some good existing habits to build on, & that's what we've done.
Each week we've just made some gradual changes
& now she is starting to feel like she actually knows what she's doing.
Her diet is becoming a lot more balanced, she's feeling good when she trains
She’s sleeping a lot better & her body fat is dropping off.
She's lost 8 kilos already
10 cm of her waist
& she has friends & family telling her she looks great.

During any diet or program it’s easy to focus on scale weight & get really hung up on it
When the best thing to focus on is creating new eating habits
& changing the way you think about food.
I’ve been working with Pav for a couple of months now…
& she’s managed to understand this pretty early on.
Instead of giving her quick fix & rapid weight loss
We are focusing on making long lasting changes.
She is seeing gradual changes to her weight (4 kg down) & a reduction in her body fat
But this is just a by product of the changes she is making.

I feel the best way to do a weekly check in is to have you send me a voice note…
Rather than filling in some generic, impersonal form.
I feel that hearing the tone & expression in your voice is important
As it allows me to get a better sense of how your week is going
& how you’re actually feeling at that time.
I started coaching Naomi back in December
& I’m not gonna lie, Its been very tough for her.
Each week she sends me a voice note for her check-in
& in the early days I could hear from the expression in her voice
That she was very unsure about what she was doing
Fearful of the type of foods she was eating
& a bit bummed out by the whole experience
Now the brilliant thing about Naomi is she’s really good at implementing what I teach her
When I ask her to do something & explain the importance of it
She gets on & does it
However one of the things she has struggled with is her mindset around food
Over the last 6 weeks though, I feel like things have really started to click for Naomi
& I’ve started to really notice a change in her weekly voice notes.
She’s gone from sounding bit bummed out
To sounding really enthusiastic & happy about what she is achieving
She’s dropping body fat, getting stronger, creating healthier eating habits
& most importantly, changing her mindset
Honestly Naomi you should be really proud of yourself 😊
For me this is exactly what I love about coaching
When at the beginning they have that sound in their voice where you can tell they really want to change but feel completely lost
To when things really start to click & I can hear that enthusiasm & happiness in their voice
As their mindset shifts, their habits change & they finally start to get the results they want.

17 jobs in 6 years 😬😂
When I left school I had the bright idea of becoming a chef (yes I wore a tall hat👨🍳)
I’m still not exactly sure how I ended up making that decision 🤷🏻♂️
Now don’t get me wrong there where times I enjoyed the job
& I met some good people over the years.
But I always hated the hours & how it kind of takes over your whole life
Split shifts, working late & weekends while your friends are out enjoying themselves
I also didn’t like some of the people I worked for & the way they thought they could speak to people
I was young, highly strung & had no problem telling someone f*** themselves
Which was obviously always a problem 😂
I went back to college to do sports development & fitness
& after a short stint working as a gym instructor I ended up back in the kitchens
But after 17 jobs in 6 years I was like I can’t carry on like this
I booked at PT course, got that done & started working as a PT
After 12 years I’m still enjoying coaching & I’ve not had too many problems
Glad I made the change

I started working with Vicky online back in October
Vicky like a lot of you is quite conscious about her weight & dreads the idea of going up a dress size
Now her eating habits weren’t too bad, but she would pick on bits & pieces that add up over time…
& she noticed some of her clothes weren’t fitting like they used to..
She had spoke to friends who’s idea of a diet is to just not eat & try survive on the odd meal here on there..
They constantly felt hungry & miserable

It was on this date 12 years ago…
On a Sunday, I did my first shift as PT
When I left school I had the bright idea of becoming a chef
By 19 I hated it!
I wanted to become a PT…
So I signed up to sports development & fitness with my mate
Done my level 2 & got a job working at Lordswood leisure centre.
This is in 2005
Anyway things didn’t quite work out, I didn’t commit..
& I ended back in the kitchens 👨🍳
By 2011 I was like f**k this I need to just do it
I Done my level 3 & started handing out CV’s
A couple months later I got call & I was offered a self employed role at David Lloyd Maidstone
It was scary but I jumped in with 2 feet
0 clients. 0 experience
Just walking the gym floor 😬
Anyway 12 years of ups & downs & I’m still coaching
& I’ve met plenty of good people along the way
I’m currently coaching
Alongside building an online coaching business.
I still love coaching & helping people
& now have plenty of experience & knowledge to do so

Over 3kg, 12 inches and a few rolls down.
Don't get it twisted, I am proud of my body in both pre and post pics, but I FEEL stronger and more functional as a human due to the results.
If I can do it with my 30+ years of bad habits - then you can too, you just need to start somewhere!
I wasn't restricted, I still ate foods I loved (including chocolate, roast potatoes and fried chicken).
