Look what I made?! Looking through my stash last Sunday for fabrics for a new quilt, I found 7 blocks (as you do)… of free form curves. Fast forward a week and I’ve sewn 6 blocks together, have hand quilted using Perle cotton and I am now binding, having auditioned various options at the shop. So after a year or so, it was done in a week of evenings…. So, don’t lose heart over your WIPs - they’re just waiting for their moment!

Live from the workroom - all bolts identified, now I’m pricing in preparation for Saturday. There sure are some goodies in here - I’m being ruthless as I need to make some space!

We need your help planning staffing and if/when we should open Jubilee weekend. Thursday and Friday are bank holidays. Saturday and Sunday are the Dickens Festival. Marina is busy cutting 'Something Blue' FQs and I said "let's make a HUGE pack!" So 5 minutes later and we have 25 fabrics awaiting cutting. That's 6.25m of utterly fabulous blues and creams - enough for the front and back of a quilt. Oh my...

We sell lots of fat quarters, so we're constantly cutting more fabrics. And who folds them all? Well our secret weapon aka 'the fat quarter fairy' is none other than my mum, Mavis. Whenever I visit her I always take a huge bag for her to fold! Her latest batch, freshly folded, will be in the shop today.
