Hi everyone.
Great news we are able to hold our free Christmas dinner. Free clothes and food bank, haircuts and more aging this year. It's been the first time since lockdown and we are over the moon. Please watch for updates for volunteers and donations. I hope those who has helped before come and help again. This even means so much to so many and us. Xx

We have been out giving out war items to those who aren't as lucky to be spending Christmas with a roof over their heads. We still have lots to give out to those also that are struggling. Hello everyone on this cold damp day. We hope you're all well, keeping warm and safe.
We all know things are hard with managing heating, food and bills during this cost of living crisis. Because of this we are not asking for food donations this year. We have kindly been donated food supplies by a national food supplier. Also Starbucks at the lakes has also been collecting clothing which is so generous. We will still be able to help the homeless and those families that struggle. We thank you for all your continued support . It's been a whole since ove posted. Lots has been happening. I've been working on the project to build accommodation and facing constant road blocks but not giving up but also Ill health has slowed my plans down a bit but I'm hoping to do our Christmas meal this year. We are aware that with the cost of living crisis. asking for food donations isn't appropriate, so calling on the supermarkets to help. I hope you guys will continue to help us with volunteering a few hours to help out if you can on the day. Hope you're all doing well ❤️❤️

Update. A local supermarket has donated 200 pasta pots and pop noodle pots so we will be out Christmas day and evening with our urn and making sure everyone that needs it has a hot meal. Tha j you to the volunteers that should have their time slots by now for helping deliver. If your times email hasn't arrived let me know please. Also
I will be needing the following volunteers next year around d spring summer. Will be days/evenings/weekends what ever suits you.

Good evening everyone. Just to update you we are busy donating food parcels and other supplies to many households and those on the streets. We have secured 8 accommodation placements for over the holiday period for people and 4 families will be taking in some elderly / vulnerable people for a Xmas meal on the day. Many thanks again to you all. As we said we didn't ask for food donations this year because we have all be struggling in the current climate but we were fortunate for one of our sponsors to provide enough food to feed many families.
Also lovely lady Has some blankets/throwaway to donate. Unfortunately I am unable to take them in as they come from a house with cats even though washed. Can anyone take them in and distribute them amongst any homeless please.

Hi everyone. Well as usual we are busy behind the scenes helping as many as we can especially as we are all feeling the cost of living crisis. Because of growing bills etc we are not asking for donations this year as it would be unfair to expect people to do this when they need every penny themselves. Instead two major supermarkets have donated and this is what we will use to help others this year. Also our major project hit a bump with another failed planning permission application. Really think rushden will always be in denial about the number of homeless in the town. We have another building to try and we hope to get some new investors on board. If anyone out there has experience in business plans your help would very much be appreciated and anyone with architectural/ plan drawing experience. Stay well, safe and don't struggle in silence xx

Hi all. Its that time of year we start planning our Christmas event. With times being hard for all we are going to join it with helping all in our community, you g and old, single or families, working or not. Lets get everyone helping and looking out for each other # # #

Hiya. Sorry we’ve been incredibly quiet but we are always busy behind the scenes helping and raising money to keep us going.

We have also now set up STOPPING RUSHDEN & HIGHAM.

This is a group where we ask people to let us know if they have or spot unwanted furniture etc outside peoples houses. Instead of going to landfill people can pop along and take a look in case there’s bits they can make use off. We will revamp some bits and distribute to those who are struggling to furnish their properties or those who were homeless and now been rehoused. Please join and spread the word.

NB: we are NOT a collection service just a way of letting people know that you have bits outside if they are interested.

No Fixed Address Bank Account | Homelessness - HSBC UK We're working with charities to help the homeless and customers with no fixed address open an HSBC bank account.

We have generously been donated bottles of hand sanitiser. We will distribute to the homeless and vulnerable and families. I you know of anyone or anyone you see sleeping rough etc please let us know # # #

Hi everyone. We have decided to box up some of our supplies to help those in the Ukraine. This charity is all about helping those in our community but us and the committee members think that among with many others if we can help we will. If possible if you have any non perishable food, toilet roll, medicines like bandages, plasters , baby supplies please be in touch x thank you.

Urgent message

is there anybody that has a fridge doesn’t matter what size ,washing machine doesn’t matter what size or cooker doesn’t matter what size that they are willing to donate to a gentleman who is disabled in the wheelchair and I’ve just been given a bungalow in riseley but unfortunately they have not provided him with any equipment that he is able to cook on or being able to store any food and he is really really struggling.

We would really appreciate you spreading the word.

Thank you so much for all the amazing donations. Thank you Emma for your amazing delivery received today. We are on our way out this evening to visit some families who are really struggling. I am sure they will be amazed xx

I get so emotional and so proud of our community. Every year since we started this the support is incredible. Such big hearts out there. We shall continue every year no matter what gets thrown at us (mainly the council moaning ) and hope to be back in the church hall soon. Our night patrols are so popular and this year I have to thank the ladies who have provided soup. 😍 I hope to have a new committee set up soon and also our massive project under way. Everyting crossed DIY SOS comes through. More on that when things are finalised. I hope we get lots of trades and volunteers. Nick Knowles is lovely and I chatted to him about it when I was part of the corby build and he hopes we can get the bbc to say yes xx

Update.
We are also now full with blankets. We received a huge amount from a wonderful lady. We have already been out each night handing them out and still have lots left xx

Thank you for all your amazing generosity. We are now full of menacing ladies clothing. Except hats. Gloves and scarfs. I wish we could take more but storage is an issue.

Due to Covid and new strain we have decided not to use the hall this year.
So instead the are making it a community event because the whole of our community has struggled with Covid, lockdowns, losing family and more. We are making hampers instead. So this year we will be asking for volunteers who can drive around and deliver hampers to homeless people, people that are in their houses and struggling and other people in the community like the elderly and the disabled. I hope you will think this is a good idea, let me know below any thoughts and please any ideas of what we could put in the hampers because we’ve got lots of food and tinned food, nonperishables but what else do you think we could put in them.

Due to Covid and the new variant once again we are unable to hold our Christmas meal. We were really hoping to be able to get the comm7nity together not just the homeless but others that have struggled through the pandemic , physically,emotionally and financially.

We will I hope get a plan together to take out food and supply parcels and also set up a soup kitchen in town at night . Logistics are still being sorted and of course these plans are only possible with volunteers and supplies. I shall post more shortly.
