It’s amazing just how many people aren’t aware of this. Are you?

Having started my own company I was interested in seeing what other Veteran owned companies are out there.

I came across the below link and can't believe how many there are or, that I was even aware of this directory!

https://www.britishveteranowned.co.uk

Please have a look if there is any service which you require, and support a veteran by using their business.

Where do you store your fuel?
Never store fuel next to your open fire or stove to reduce the risk of an accidental house fire.

Whilst conducting a Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) today we came across this unusual final exit door. The building was previously used as a bank and the security/exit mechanism had been left in place. Unfortunately when we tried to open the door there were 2 major issues. 1. It would not open more than an inch due to the new flooring restricting movement. 2. The door only opened inwards and if it had opened fully, would have completely blocked one means of escape to it. Wherever you work, please do one thing, just check you can get out and not just by the way you got in.

An important topic, what’s your thoughts?

We love a good BBQ as much as the next person, but the arguments against disposable BBQs are really stacking up.

We’ve already asked local authorities to ban the use of BBQs in public parks and open spaces, but now we need to take it a step further…

We appreciate that many Londoners don’t have space to store or use a permanent BBQ, and we don’t want anyone to miss out, but disposable BBQs are too often used in risky locations, and left where they’ll cause harm to wildlife and people.

That’s why we’re calling for a total ban on disposable BBQs following one of the busiest weeks in our history, which saw multiple grass fires cause massive damage. The recent dry spell has left grassland like a tinderbox, and a disposable BBQ is even more of a fire risk in these conditions.

Some shops, including and have already announced they’ll no longer stock disposable BBQs because of their impact on the environment and wildlife.

So if you want to help ban these dangerous BBQs, you can sign the petition set up by Toby Tyler. Toby’s nine-year-old son Will was severely burned when he stood on an extremely hot patch of sand, where a disposable BBQ had been burning many hours earlier.

If you agree that grass fires, environmental damage, and a risk of significant burns isn’t worth a few badly cooked sausages - let’s ditch the disposable BBQ!

Something different, exciting & educational for the children over the summer holidays.

Schools Out For The Summer☀️

The long school summer holidays are here!

It can be tough thinking of new and exciting things to do with children over the summer and the current cost of living crisis is only making it harder.

We don’t have all the answers, but we do have some fantastic open days coming up, so why not factor these into your plans (they may also learn a thing or two – but you don’t need to tell them that!) ⬇️

Saturday, 23 July – Northallerton Fire Station – 10am until 3pm 🚒
After one extremely hot week why not cool down with some water based exercises amongst other activities at our Northallerton Fire Station Open Day.
Please follow Northallerton Fire Station for any updates

Monday, 25 July – Richmond Falls – International Drowning Prevention Day 🚒
Our fantastic Prevention team will be at this popular waterside location with our new water flume educating visitors about the potential dangers of open water and how they can help themselves and others if they find themselves in difficulty.

Saturday 6 August – Scarborough Fire Station – 11am until 4pm 🚒
There will be plenty to do for all ages at this multi-agency open day from interactive stalls, presentations, demos and even a quiz! The focus of the day will be road safety.

Sunday 28 August – Malton Fire Station 🚒
With a colourful inflatable maze and the Fire Bike visiting there is sure to be something for most people at this open day.

Some of our events are weather dependent so please keep an eye on our social media channels for any updates ☔

We may also have the opportunity to host additional drop-in sessions, information days of coffee mornings and will post about these when appropriate.

Please be responsible when your out enjoying the weather & countryside 🔥

Look at the state of this ⬇️

Seriously?‼️

Someone thought it was...
a. Acceptable to light a barbeque in an area not designed or designated for them to be used in
b. Use a barbeque on an area of dry grassland
c. Leave their rubbish like this for someone else to clean up!

Luckily one of our firefighters spotted this at Cod Beck this morning but it could have been a very different story 🔥

We know our fantastic followers are highly unlikely to be responsible for such recklessness but if you could share our message with others we would really appreciate it!
