Wishing everyone a very happy holidays and a prosperous 2023!
Tonight marks the end of the 2022 season for the GPVWC sim-racing league. I’m involved with numerous teams in the league, but one team in particular holds great significance to me and tonight marks the end of a truly prestigious era.
Simracing by VBM was founded by my friend Mike Pitman well over 15 years ago and has been a constant presence in GPVWC since 2013. Since then, it has claimed 3 drivers and 2 teams Superleague championships, over 30 wins and poles and over a hundred podium finishes. It has allowed dozens of drivers the opportunity to show their talents, including Rudy van Buren, who would go on to be the original World’s Fastest Gamer.
Moreover, VBM was my introduction to sim-racing which has had a tremendous impact on my life, both personal and professional. It was Mike Pitman who originally invited me into the community (twice, either side of university) and whose ambitious vision for VBM’s growth allowed me to develop my talents for brand design and all manner of liveries and helmet designs.
On a more personal note, within GPVWC’s Superleague, VBM setup an in-game engine manufacturer. Mike indulged my views on the engine’s name. We named it Valiant, a stirring and fitting use of alliteration on one hand, and a heartfelt tribute to my Granddad on the other. Valiant engines have been immensely successful and, as their time also ends, I’m forever grateful to Mike for allowing me to be a part of its creation as well as the whole team as a whole.
Race well, chaps! This may be the end of a great chapter, but the story will most surely continue!
Huge privilege and pleasure to have been the guest of Team RaceArt at the Spa Racing Festival last weekend. Great to see them race the monstrous (in a good way) Bentley Continental for the first time; not to mention the 2nd-place finish!
I'm extremely grateful to the everyone at the team for the opportunity and the experience; they could not have been nicer and more hospitable, and truly made for a fantastic weekend. Even if I did get a bit soaked... Ah well, Spa!
Road-trip time!
There was one more reward for coming second in Team RaceArt's livery design competition; I've been given tickets to attend this weekend's Racing Festival at the world-famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium! Great to go back to Spa again! I can't wait to see the cars in action!
Thanks once again to Team RaceArt for the prize.
Had a lot of fun adapting of the GPVWC livery I did for Kings Racing, this time on a Toyota Corolla for the upcoming EERC BTCC competition.
To be driven by Scott Mitchell-Malm, Luke Mitchel and Jack Nicholls.
Coming in second place in the Team RaceArt livery competition also came with some goodies!
Thanks once again to Team RaceArt for the prize and for shipping them over to t'other side of the North Sea. They look mighty fine!
Extremely proud to have come in second place in the recent livery design competition run by Team RaceArt.
I was able to fall back on what I knew, using RFactor2's own template and car model of the Bentley to visualise the livery.
I'll post a couple more angles of the car later.
My thanks again to the team and congratulations to the other finalists, especially the winner! Can't wait to see the car hit the track!
A pleasure and honour to design the nose cover* sticker kit for the #6 MRK team to use at the recent Le Mans 24 Hours Karting challenge. Guys raced through to 2nd!

I don't just do liveries! Here is a small selection of other designs, posters and illustrations I've done. Some are a few years old, mind...
My livery for the Red Arrow Racing team I did for David Fidock. I also reworked the logo for him.
Red Arrow are pleased to finally show off our new car for the 2017 season.
The RA-001
Special thanks goes to Douglas Hilliard at zedderick designs for taking his time to design our beast.
The RA-001 complete with sponsors from simnews.tv and downforce radio is now all set to hit the track.
Both Nicholas Demetris (65) and Bartomeu Cabrer Vidal (93) are already looking forward to pre season and can't wait to get in full swing of things when the season gets underway in Australia.
Mike Padawan Phillis very kindly rendered Zedderick Racing's new Supercup car for me - I'm particularly pleased with this livery and it looks even nicer rendered.
It is of course that time of year again so expect more liveries soon!

Completed design for Fanatec Draig Racing for the SimRacing.Club VEC championship
Whilst we are busy writing some posts to review the end of the year, the paints dried on the full season livery for our #139 Virtual Le Mans Series Oreca LMP2! Painted once again by the ever amazing Douglas Hilliard from Zedderick Designs! A take on our FC design with tweaks to the colour pallete used, this is a mean looking machine ready to take the fight to the rest of the class! #139
Very pleased to announce that Zedderick Designs won an award from GPVWC.com for best livery for the third year running! This year it was for Fanatec Draig Racing's Formula Challenge car.

Livery for Fanatec Draig Racing for the British Virtual Touring Car Championship, using the brand new Subaru model developed by Tom Jacobs
Time to take the covers off our newly skinned Subaru Levorgs which are ready for battle in the British Virtual Touring Car Championship ! Once again, Douglas Hilliard from Zedderick Designs has created a masterpiece on what is a completely new car to the series. Stay tuned here to keep up to date with Matt and Ben's progress in the series!
Just because the GPVWC Career Ladder is in the off-season, and everyone has been on Holiday, doesn't mean I stop work. This is one of the busiest times of the year for me. Here are some of the skins I've been doing ***besides*** the skins for the 2017 season.

An update to the SlipStream Racing British Virtual Touring Car Championship car, based on a RC car skin I did for Myles Dixon. My designs for SlipStream over the years have rarely been minimalist, and it's nice to work with them again!
Slipstream Racing unveil their new design for the rest of the British Virtual Touring Car Championship 2016b season. Myles, Glenn and Simon hope to carry the progress made at the last round as they move their focus towards Thruxton. Big thanks to Douglas Hilliard for the awesome design.
The Zedderick Racing (my own) Toyota Avensis for the GPVWC ITC season
Tomorrow evening sees the first round of the 2016 GPVWC International Touring Cup at Donington and we are delighted to make our final announcement: the car's ready on time!
Here she is, our Toyota Avensis in all her... redness, and in the hands of Phil Morby and Cameron Brewster!
The Avensis is exclusive to Zedderick this year; we are one of several teams who have rejected the notion of OMGCivicFTW; but this has resulted in a remarkable scenario that every team that didn't go for a Honda unknowingly chose a car that would be unique to their team.
The wisdom of these decisions will become clear in less than 24 hours and we are very excited to see how it all pans out!
After working on the Zedderick Toyota for the GPVWC ITC series, I then created this for the personal use of my driver Ben Willis to use in the WSVR British Virtual Touring Car Championship
Our second post tonight, and the first of our two lineup/livery posts sees Draig step into a new discipline of racing with our first season in the WSVR British Virtual Touring Car Championship. We will be fielding one NGTC spec Toyota Avensis driven by team manager, Ben Willis in car #85. Once again Douglas Hilliard of Zedderick Designs has provided us with another fantastic livery!
A evolution (and colour swap) of the 2015 car, but still one I am very happy with - the 2016 Draig Racing GPVWC Atlantic Series car
Our final post tonight is the second part in our lineup/livery duet. We are pleased to announce that draig will return to the GPVWC.com Atlantic Series for its second year. Driving the #0 car will be a returnee from last year Roy Schroten with our 2016 WSS driver Thomas Hinss in the #2. Joshua Anderson Will be our reserve driver and will also fill in for Roy for round 1 tomorrow. Once again, Douglas Hilliard has produced yet another classic livery for us under his Zedderick Designs painting brand. Keep your eyes peeled tomorrow to follow all the progress from Round 1!
