LATCH offers crucial practical, emotional, and financial support to children diagnosed with cancer or leukaemia and their families, to ease the burden they face.
Each year, this incredible charity supports hundreds of children and families across Wales being treated at the Children’s Hospital for Wales.

We’re delighted to announce the promotion of Bernie Lynch as our new Group Operations Director on the Galaxy Construction Solutions board! Bernie will now oversee Group Logistics, Fleet, Property, and Health & Safety with her dedication and expertise.

Bernie's journey with us began in 2010 as our first apprentice, and she has been an integral part of our business ever since. Starting with our founding two branches in Sheffield and Leeds to our current 15 strong employee-owned locations now. Bernie transitioned to our operations team in 2021, and since then has collaborated closely with the team to streamline the department, making a real impact.

Insights from the recent ‘Decoding the Future Homes Standard’ session at UK Construction Week from our Technical Divisional Director, Steven Marshall:
The panel delved into the government's Future Homes Standard consultation:
•The overwhelming consensus was the proposed options did not adequately address sustainability in the new build housing market.
•It was agreed by everyone that not improving the building's fabric performance was a missed opportunity.
•Challenges were highlighted in transitioning to fully electric housing in the short to medium term, due to lacking infrastructure, manufacturing capabilities, and a skilled workforce.
•They advocated a re-evaluation post the general election to create a more robust plan.

Introducing Justine!

Bringing more than 20 years of industry expertise, Justine joined us as the Technical Services Manager in March 2021.

Hailing from Yorkshire, where our Galaxy journey began, Justine relocated to our Glasgow branch last year. She helps customers comply with the Scottish Technical Handbook Regulations for the entire building envelope.

Specialising in ground gas and waterproofing as a Certified Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing (CSSW), Justine also leads the Ground Gas workflow for the Offsite Alliance.

Beyond work, Justine enjoys sailing her Moody on the Clyde and cherishing moments with her expanding family. Here she is with her new grandson, Edward, during his recent visit to meet our Glasgow team!
