Did you know that a public access defibrillator will walk you through how to use it? That means anyone can use one – even if you’ve never used one before.

Awareness courses can help increase confidence, but in an emergency, anyone can give CPR and use a defibrillator to help try and save a life.

Happy international Women’s Day to all Health and Social care staff

A report in October 2022 published that the adult social care workforce is made up of around 82% female workers. With this in mind, we think it would be safe to say that the care industry would not be what it is today without women. So we wanted to take some time out on International Womens Day to say thank you to all the women working in our industry, and a special thank you to the women working at Country Lodge. Your care, compassion, and kindness make Country Lodge what it is, so thank you.

Defibrillators are vital to restart the heart after a cardiac arrest but they will only have a chance of doing this if CPR is given as soon as possible after the casualty has collapsed - do you know how to do CPR?

Brilliant to hear from the CQC that they will be increasingly focused on the quality of learning as a way to judge service quality, and looking at the 'culture of learning' within providers. We've always insisted that training should not purely be a tick box exercise to evidence compliance, it should be about investing in quality learning opportunities for your staff, who, will grow and stay with you and ultimately deliver higher quality service! Seems such a simple principle for someone on the training side of the industry, but we see all too often that some providers are focused far too much on ticking a box for the CQC. Yes, it's important, but long term investment in good quality training will create stable, engaged teams who deliver fantastic care. Simple 🙂
Borrowed from LinkedIn.....but very true, quality training leads to effective learning and competent & caring staff.
