Inspiring Stories

Words do two major things: They provide food for the mind and create light for understanding and awar "Great quotes make the light bulb go off in my mind.

If you're like me, you'll jump at the chance to bypass all the churning and scoop the cream right off the top - that is what quotes are...the cream of our learning!"

The clock is running . . . so make the most of today

Imagine there is a bank that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening it deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day.

What would you do? Draw out all of it of course!

Each of us has such a bank. Its name is time. Every morning at 12.00 am it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose.

It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours. There is no going back. There is no drawing against the 'tomorrow'. You must live in the present on today's deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and success!

The clock is running, so make the most of today!

• To realise the value of one year, ask a student who failed a grade.
• To realise the value of one month, ask the mother of a premature baby.
• To realise the value of one week, ask the editor of a weekly newspaper.
• To realise the value of one hour, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.
• To realise the value of one minute, ask the person who just missed a train.
• To realise the value of one second, ask the person who just avoided an accident.
• To realise the value of one hundredth of a second, ask the person who won a silver medal in the Olympics.

Treasure every moment that you have! Treasure it more because you shared it with someone special . . . special enough to spend your time with and remember that time waits for no one.

Todays lesson
What Is The Law Of Attraction?

Simply put, the Law of Attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. It is believed that regardless of age, nationality or religious belief, we are all susceptible to the laws which govern the Universe, including the Law of Attraction. It is the Law of Attraction which uses the power of the mind to translate whatever is in our thoughts and materialize them into reality. In basic terms, all thoughts turn into things eventually. If you focus on negative doom and gloom you will remain under that cloud. If you focus on positive thoughts and have goals that you aim to achieve you will find a way to achieve them with massive action. (paragraph thanks to thelawofattraction.com)

For me today the law of attraction was like this. Think good and things will be good and good things will come your way. Or in my case think and be negative of things and have a crappy day. Lesson learnt...

Be happy even when you are not happy about something and the day might not be brilliant but it will be OK.

So that was me having a bad and long day. So how does the law of attraction work for you do you believe in it, and if so how has worked for you? How do you use it in your business?

The Habit of Success by Earl Nightingale

Do each day all that can be done that day. You don’t need to overwork or to rush blindly into your work trying to do the greatest possible number of things in the shortest possible time. Don’t try to do tomorrow’s or next week’s work today. It’s not the number of things you do, but the quality, the efficiency of each separate action, that counts.
To achieve this “habit of success,” you need only to focus on the most important tasks and succeed in each small task of each day. Enough of these, and you have a successful week, month, year and lifetime. Success is not a matter of luck. It can be predicted and guaranteed, and anyone can achieve it by following this plan.
But most people live a life of quiet mediocrity and never achieve the success they truly desire because they get impatient. They want easy success, or none at all. They see the path to success as a frustration, an impediment. Each day spent short of the ultimate goal is viewed as a time of failure and as an annoyance. As such, they get distracted by hundreds of little things that each day try to get us off our course. Yet the successful among us know the truth: If the end goal is all we desire, we simply cannot put in the time and effort it takes to be a success when it counts—each day—and therefore cannot lay the foundation for tomorrow’s success.
Pay no attention to petty distractions. Enjoy the easy days and shake off the bad days. Stay steadily on your track. Concentrate on each task of the day from morning to night and do each as successfully as you can. Know full well that if each of your tasks is performed successfully, or at least the greater majority of them, your life must be successful.

Facts tell Stories sell as Tom "Big Al" Schreiter would say.

I like to use stories to help our prospects think. How do stories do this? Well the stories make pictures in the our prospects head, and as people we remember in pictures not words. It makes our prospect see there self’s and how our business can help them. Here is one i like to use to make them think about changing what they do or have.

A SHAGGY DOG STORY

Not long ago in the not to distant past.
two old men were sitting on a pouch
looking out to sea at the sun set.
One of the old men had his dog with him
who was laying on the porch too.
The dog was laying there and he was whimpering
and crying in his sleep. The other old man said
to the dog owner why is your dog crying and
whimpering like that?
Well! said the dog owner. You see that is his
favorite spot and he has been laying in that same
spot for years. But why is he whimpering? said
the other man. The man replied, Just underneath
where he is laying there is a nail and it is sticking
through the floor board and into him and that is what is
making him whimper and cry. Why doesn’t he
move then? said the other man.
Well it’s just not hurting enough! For him to move

The Wise man and the Prince

There was once a wise man that was much beloved by the people of his country. There was also an evil prince who hated the wise man for having the affection of the people, while he the prince did not. The prince fought constantly for ways to discredit the wise man. Finally, he hit upon a plan.

“Tomorrow,” said the prince” when the wise man goes to the marketplace to talk to the people, I shall be there. I will hold a dove in my hand, and I will say, ‘Wise man! Tell me, this dove that I hold in my hand, is it alive or dead? If he says it is dead, I will open my hand and let the bird fly away. If he says it is alive, I will crush it in my hand and let it fall to the ground, dead. Either way, I will have made the wise man appears a fool!”

The next day came, and the prince was in the marketplace before the wise man arrived. He was waiting patiently, and when the wise man appeared and began to speak, the prince took the dove from its cage and raised his voice above the crowd.

“Wise man” he shouted, “I would ask you a simple question. This bird which I hold in my hand is it alive or is it dead?”

The crowd grew silent, and all the eyes turned to the wise man. The wise man paused, looked first at the people and then at the prince, and said: “That which you hold in your hand, it is what you make of it.”

Our Choices Show Who We Are

A choice is not a simple thing because consequences will matter,
When making a decision, clear your mind of all needless chatter.
It’s your future you’re affecting by the decisions you make,
it’s your future you’re creating – so you don’t want to make a mistake.

We all must know that in the end, our choices decide who we are,
some choices are right, some choices are wrong and some will leave a scar.
It is you who will decide how you live your life,
In many cases, your choices will decide how much happiness or strife.

There will be things that happen that you did not choose,
but how you choose to handle them will determine if you win or lose.
So never look for the half-truth or the easy way out,
because the decisions you make will tell us what you’re all about.

If you decide to look the other way and make no choice at all,
having no courage to choose will be the cause of your downfall.
I choose to live my life as if I were on stage
that every choice I make will reveal my character gauge.

For once you make the decision, you choose what to do,
your integrity is now made public, there is no hiding it from view.
Understand the life you live is really not by chance,
your success or failure comes from how you take a stance.

So make your choices following one powerful guiding light,
search for truth, honesty and fairness and then decide what’s right.
By taking this course of action, you will never be wrong,
for true success comes to only those willing to be strong.
