Our new Ranger has arrived!

We’re thrilled to introduce the latest addition to our fleet – our new branded Ranger. The new vehicle has the engineering to ensure all Grounds Maintenance equipment is available at our sites to deliver the GM service.


As of the start of this month, the SEPS team provide the Grounds Maintenance service on behalf of South Essex Homes and Southend on Sea City Council .

The remit of this contract includes:
🍃 Grass cutting
✂ Hedge trimming
🌿 Weeding
🚮 Litter picking

Our Community Wardens based in Basildon are continuing to patrol in all weathers and lending a helping hand where they can …

“During our patrols we noticed how extreme the ice conditions were on the footpaths and road access in this social housing area.

We took it upon ourselves to engage with the residents in the social/communal area, who provided us with a bucket to allow us to grit the paths and road by hand. They were very appreciative of this.

We left them and were kindly offered tea, coffee and bailey's - which was politely declined!”

Some members of the SEPS Team took part in Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) training this week led by Jeff Appleby, Training and Development Officer for Essex Police.

Working with Essex Police and on behalf of Local authorities, including in Basildon, where SEPS provide a Community Safety Service across the Borough, the CSAS accreditation gives our team members the power to improve community safety with targeted powers.

Our recently accredited Officers are fully vetted and will carry official identification badges endorsed by Essex Police. They will have several low-end policing powers including the powers to issue Fixed Penalty Notices where needed.

Councillor Andrew Baggott, Leader of Basildon Council said

“Our wardens are already doing brilliant work across our borough, and now the additional powers they will have through our PSPO will help them to further support our partners such as Essex Police in tackling issues of ASB. The prohibitions within our PSPO will help to make our public spaces such as our parks, open spaces, and town centres places for everyone to enjoy safely.”

Southend CityJam

A brilliant project to play a small, but valuable role, in the background; providing security for the event in partnership with Southend on Sea City Council; nothing feels as great as receiving feedback like this about our team members.

"Your team were fantastic.

They offered more than I expected, including the clearing away of litter and helping move furniture.

They used initiative where not asked, such as when stacking barriers post-event in a way that was safe and easy for our teams to collect the next day.

It was nice to have the continuity of the same four officers throughout the event; this made a huge difference, saving me the job of briefing new officers each day.
I was more than satisfied with the level of service.

We are pleased to announce we are working in partnership with Basildon Council providing a Community Safety Warden Patrol service tackling anti-social behaviour across the Borough including estates, town centres, and parks.

We have vast experience of working in the South Essex area, alongside the people that live and work here. Our dedicated team have a track record of making positive differences to communities, where residents can reclaim the open spaces, to be used for positive experiences.

We aspire to ensure residents have a sense of pride about where they live, feel part of the community and build on the participation of positive safe spaces.

‘We are excited to commence this partnership agreement to ensure the communities of Basildon remain safe by reducing crime and anti social behaviour.”
