Today I did a little project in my shed .

Every now and then I get despondent about my beads. But when I actually use them I just can’t understand why everyone doesn’t use them .

Is it because they consider them a unnecessary expense ?

Is it because they don’t really care about quality ?

I challenge anyone to get as perfect finish as my beads easily achieve by conventional methods without ending up with a dusty edge that will crack etc and that’s without the benefits of keeping the box clean and safe . This box was live when I I plastered this wall and I was in no danger .

I get plasterers all the time saying they can achieve the same quality without them but to be honest I just don’t believe them .

I just don’t understand why they aren’t much bigger than they are? Is it a personal thing with me ? I know I can be a bit short tempered at times and I’ve probably made a lot of enemies . In which case why would people not want the best possible outcome irrespective of a personal clash ?

Why not give them a try if you had already ?

Hello everyone
My beads now have a new unique feature “ the indicator “ it’s basically a bit of rubber that pops through the plaster and indicates its position. People have commented that they have lost my beads in the past so I’ve come up with a solution . The face of my beads is recessed and allows the indicator to not really interfere with the trowel . This version is only available from myself so if you want to try them out please contact me .

I’ve been doing some demo boards in my garden to show how well they work . 💪

The Socket bead now has a new unique feature ( the indicator) this is basically a rubber bit that pops out of the plaster and stops it’s position being lost , it sits in the recessed face and is very soft rubber so it doesn’t interfere or damage trowels in any way 💪

This post is about the power of social media and the potential abuse of that power .

A while back someone posted a basically very unfair video of my beads , that video received over 200,000 views eventually . I noticed a drop in fresh sales ( new leads ) in fact I didn’t get any for 19 days . I confronted the person who posted the video and informed them of potential legal action , he then agreed to remove the video . Within two days my fresh leads started to return and are now slightly over the level before the post was aired .

If I hadn’t noticed that and responded then permanent damage could have been done to my products reputation . I openly asked if anyone had similar issues and not 1 person has come forward and said they had , in fact I had some very reassuring responses . The one point that was raised was , the guy said there were no instructions to say they couldn’t be used in that manner although there were leaflets with links to videos etc .

In response to this situation all orders will now be accompanied by step by step easy to read instructions .

Social media is a very powerful tool . Without LinkedIn it’s unlikely I would have been invited to the boardroom of a multi billion pound company (Willmott Dixon ) where my beads are now mandated for use . But without social media it wouldn’t be possible for a sole trader to effect damage on my business in the way that was done .

Please think when posting or commenting , social media affects real people in real ways .
