one of the things I love about setting up wedding cakes, is the behind the scenes, sometimes you are lucky enough to hear the ceremony and this one was beautiful. ( i’ve also had this song rent free in my head the last couple of weeks!)

I absolutely love the straight clean lines of a square cake, especially paired with the .options silver separators.

Does anyone else REALLY struggle to get accurate pictures of cakes at venues? Or just me?
I promise that it’s a dark forest green and not black like the sun is making my pictures 🫣

This cake looked absolutely beautiful sat in the large window at last month, with a mixture of textured and marbled fondant with delicate sugar flower details to match the brides flowers.

Sugar flowers definitely are a firm favourite decoration of mine to make for wedding cakes.

A little reminder as I don’t advertise them very much, but celebration cakes are still available if dates are free from weddings. ☺️

My passion within wedding cakes certainly lies with creating intricate realistic sugar flowers. There’s something so satisfying about being able to create them to flow romantically across a cake exactly where you’d like them.

Here’s a couple of reasons why to pick sugar flowers…

•They are not restricted by growing seasons and can be made into any colour combination to match your wedding theme.

•They are not toxic, all too often you see absolutely beautiful cakes adorned with gorgeous flowers…. However a lot of these are toxic. ( some may cause a slight upset tummy or rash… others however can have quite scary consequences) last year there seemed to be a big increase in some of the very toxic ones being used. (Fresh flowers absolutely can be used, but they need to be non toxic varieties and prepared correctly)
Sugar flowers can be created into your favourite flowers, even if they are a toxic variety like delphiniums.

• They can be kept as a beautiful keep sake from your wedding day! Stored correctly they are a beautiful reminder of the intricate details you picked for your special day.

First day back today after a lovely Christmas & New year break.

So Happy New Year to you all!

With lots of new enquiries in my inbox to keep me busy for a few days, I thought it would be a good idea to show myself on the grid.... kind of! Maybe this should be my new years resolution.... not to duck and dodge away from the camera behind the scenes and embrace it instead!

So much care and attention goes into creating your wonderful cakes, not only in the kitchen, but during setting up at your venue too! I'm a firm believer that your cake should look as perfect as possible from every angle and not just the front!

Did you know that once you've had your design consultation that I fully organise everything else, from liaising with your venue or other wedding suppliers to it being fully set up on the day? One less thing for you to tick off your checklist, meaning that you can 100% relax and enjoy your morning getting ready!
