As we had to close at the end of last week, our uneaten perishable snack items were donated to Stirling Community Food Bank. Lovely to know they've gone to good use!
Busy doing Christmas crafts including these lovely canvas prints as a keepsake! 🎄🧑🎄
We will close on Monday 20th December, as we are unable to operate on a half day. We wish all our families a very Happy Christmas & we will return with the school on 5th January!
Some den building & tree climbing from last week. Lots of fun alongside developing skills!
Here is a copy of our Information Booklet. This was designed to be folded in 3 as a paper copy, which is why it is displayed this way. Please contact us by email for further club information.

HERE IS A COPY OF THE EMAIL SENT TO ALL OF OUR CURRENT FAMILIES. WE ASK THAT ANY QUERIES ARE EMAILED TO US RATHER THAN WRITTEN ON THIS THREAD. THANK YOU:
Dear Parents,
Firstly, we hope everyone is keeping well & managing to ride through these difficult times.
Myself & the Parents Committee want to update you as best we can about the club’s position next term.
The normal policy is that parents return a slip in May about any changed day needs that they may have from August. These are then accommodated by myself, as best I can. At this point, siblings of current members are then added in wherever possible (extremely rare that they would not be). ONLY at this stage do I then look at how to fit in our new family applications.
This year I have been unable to do this set procedure for obvious reasons. Firstly, families will not know the set days their child may be in school if reduced days go ahead as planned. Secondly, as we can not currently predict who will need which day, we can’t evaluate how it may impact our numbers. For example parents needs may fill our numbers on a Monday but only give us 7 or 8 on other days etc. Thirdly, we need to know our allocated spacing within the premises & how the Care Inspectorate will permit us to operate. From literature read so far, given the extreme situation we are living, it is hopeful normal practice / numbers will be given every opportunity to continue with appropriate safety / spacing in place. Slight accommodations to some area of our regular structure may be permitted, given it is short term but nothing is yet certain. However, we also must take into account any School & Council decisions or restrictions that may affect us. Michelle Ritchie, our current Committee Chair, is currently in frequent communication with both to keep abreast of relevant areas.
With all of this information, I would currently state that the set weekly places used PRIOR to March by current families, are as safe as I can possibly give at this time. Requested changes to these days will then be given 1st priority when we know we are able to operate & how. Siblings will then be added in & finally new families will be accommodated where possible.
Once each individual child has been given their school days allocation, all families, current or new, must let us know exactly what days they would need at the Club. We ask that you please email this, only at this appropriate stage. A reminder email will go out at this point too.
Therefore, due to all of these current uncertainties, I am presently not in a position to confirm numbers for next year. We understand this is not ideal & can be frustrating but I’m sure you will all appreciate that because of these unprecedented times & how many quantities are in the mix for us, it would not be sensible or fair to try & confirm anything at present.
The Club will keep you informed of any new advancements we make to help secure decisions going forward.
We would still encourage & appreciate any new applications to come forward, as there is every hope & chance these will be accommodated, even if not immediately. I always operate a Waiting List on a 1st come, 1st served basis for new applications as spaces open over the year regardless of the current climate. Therefore, please advise any people you know, who are considering OSC needs, to get in touch by email.
Thank you so much for your continued commitment to the Club & we wish all families our good wishes.
Kindest Regards
Kirsten Thow
Club Manager
To all our OSC families, we hope you are all getting on as best you can in this locked in time.
Here is a daft poem by our Creative Lead, Chris. Just for a bit of fun to let all the children know we are thinking about them. Please show all the kids!😀❤️
As posted on our Group Page a few weeks ago, the children loved baking these simple scones.
Here is the recipe in case anyone is looking for something to try! 👩🍳👨🍳
As we close the club today, while everything in the country rides this unprecedented time, then begins to heal, we wish everyone strength & good wishes.
Earlier in the week, we donated some left over party foods, baking items & more quality essential items to Start Up Stirling. Some children helped us look through cupboards & staff added to this with more tins & non-perishable items such as toilet roll & shower gels before we dropped off.
We will keep in touch with all our families💕
