Another live edge table on the go, this one is made out of two ash slabs, can you spot the live edge joint, swipe for the answer! As always the wood is fully traceable back to the tree. Using fully sustainable and traceable wood from properly managed British woodlands is what we do best. Can’t wait for it to have the finish on, this will be a proper stunner!

Completed this huge 2.5m shelving unit today, complete with barn door, hidden coat and shoe storage and oodles of room for records. Cable holes for speakers and record stops included. Stained with antique oak and made out of chunky redwood. This was a heavy beast and long install but well worth the effort!

I love the creative process to design furniture, but equally I love a specific client who knows exactly what they want. This mantle had to be:
✅ Clean oak, not character oak
✅ low profile so it doesn’t protrude into the room
✅ scandi feel with clean lines
✅ a perfect curve, not rustic
✅ securely fitted with removable and concealed fittings

To which my reply was yes, yes, yes, yes and yes, I’ll also make it out of ethically sourced reclaimed oak, and finish it with an environmentally friendly finish!

Not without technical difficulty I set my circle jig to a massive 1.9m radius to cut this out exactly, routed out the brackets by 4.5mm and use a laser level to get this fitted perfectly. 👊💪

White washed Mellor table delivered today. 1.1m diameter with boxed hairpin legs. Lovely.

My parents had this beautiful old tree in their garden, which was a horse chestnut. It was huge and the kids loved their own private conker stash every year. Unfortunately it got some sort of disease and was becoming dangerous so had to be removed. From some of the remaining wood I pilfered a log (or two) and made these two little guys for Father’s Day. They’re only little, but should serve as a nice memory of the tree.

You asked for it, so here it is, a couple of stills of my last two tables to go out. I have two more dining tables on the workbench now, which hopefully I can get out Monday 🤞🤞

Managed to get this chunky Elm table out before my injury, it’s solid chunky elm with two live edges and chunky legs. This coffee table really felt like it had a solid presence. The elm is from shropshire and had Dutch elm disease.

I’ve been a little bit quiet on the socials recently. Here’s why 🫣
It will hopefully be a speedy recovery, and I’m still taking orders and doing quotes, but please be aware there may be a longer than usual lead time as I take the time I need to heal properly.
