Every now and then I come across some awesome online tools for business collaboration, and I am sure many of you have knowledge of some too that I haven't heard of.
when we find good things, we should share our experiences and recommendations, even if nobody asked.

Today I would like to share ahaslides.

The problem with Microservices.

Most developers are aware of the difference between Microservices and SOA but their managers often aren't, and because managers often make the decisions that govern what the developers create, they should at least understand the basics.

This man explains development in clear jargon-free English.

DevOps engineers, developers, software and data architects, build distributed spaghetti because their managers want distributed cloud systems to manage cost and scalability. If it is understood that this isn't the definition of Microservices then all is fine, but often there is a belief that the flexibility of Microservices has been achieved too when it hasn't.

Can you fix a broken component quickly or react to micro upgrades within components that are imposed on you from libraries or dependencies? Or is every deployment a major "testing the entire system" nightmare?

Home workspace nearly there. Just need that window fitted.

Plastering the workspace

Time to start building this social media channel for my business.

First, I need a real office to work from. Like many others during Covid-19 pandemic, I have worked from home for the past few months, but now I feel I need a dedicated workspace; My home office. So I have built one, in my garage.

At a great personal cost in money and time I have built a fully insulted room in my garage, and on Tuesday, I hope to have it fully plastered. By Friday it should be painted and by the end of the coming weekend, it should be carpeted, with fancy lighting, desk and furniture. I am having a window tailor-made and have fitted a security door for access from within the house.

I am very pleased with the work carried out so far and look forward to using the room for the real work of helping customers with their technology requirements.

Building anything in a pandemic is difficult as the supplies are severely limited. When the pandemic started, I didn't even own the property so wasn't able to make any alterations (it was rented).

Home-ownership and alterations during this testing time have been interesting, fun and challenging and I feel for those who haven't had a project to work on. I would have been bored silly without this and the last contract at Health Shield.

I look forward to whatever comes next.
