Chimney sweep stoke - staffordshire

Iv had a lot of enquires recently for sweeps (due to the weather been cold) and appliances been used for longer periods.

Yes i work all year round, during the summer or towards the end of summer is 1 of the best times to get a sweep as it gets it ready for the autumn months.

Also if you appliance has been shut down it makes sure it’s safe to start burning again, eliminating and deposits such as any debris fallen/bird nests or a accumulation of soot/tar if you have been using the appliance for longer periods due to the cooler weather from your previous sweep.

This time of year is also ideal for any service work that includes:

If anyone would like a sweep-service-pots sorting out spring & summer months are perfect to get prepared for autumn.

Also if you are selling a property it’s important to get your appliance certified with a HETAS certificate i do lots for estate agents and this is a requirement.

I only use genuine schott glass when doing replacements it’s far superior to other glass.

stoves need servicing just as any other heating appliance.

This grate was certainly due to be replaced!

This is a classic sign of over firing (getting to hot) this can do damage to lot of other internal parts of the stove.

so if you think your stove has got to hot it’s always worth having it checked over, this would cost as little as £30.

another 1 in need of a sweep a lot sooner than scheduled!

this was only done just under 3 months ago!!

it just go’s to show when a stove is in constant use day & night how quick soot & deposits can build up..

this is why it is recommended to have stoves swept at least twice a year, even more when burning seasoned wood..

Fire brick repair to a dunsley stove, now replaced with genuine bricks with the correct secondary burn holes in the brick.

Nice clear view stove, this was a challenge as it had a rear exit pipe extension with a 90 degree bend, our flexible flue boss rods come into action.

without these type of rods this type of sweep would be impossible!

Problems with draw/smoke coming into the room, initially before going thought it could of been cold spots in the stack, upon attending and sending some rods up it quickly came apparent there was a birds nest..

This was a good sized nest, these take some time and hard work to get out!

Always get a cowl with mesh fitted on your pots to stop birds nesting .

Was all sorted in a couple of hours, beautiful house and open fire, ready to warm the house again.
