Park View FC
Football Club from the Sunderland Sunday League
Just a reminder that this club is currently defunct and is no longer active.
For those looking for a team, try Park View United FC
We say goodbye but remain United.
As of Thursday 8th of June, we were told that we could no longer use the name Sunderland Park View FC.
So to the wishes of Dave Briggs we have decided that Park View FC remains his and he is going to use that name for a 'future project'.
We would like to give thanks to Dave Briggs, Liz and Peter for everything they have done for this club.
Therefore Sunderland Park View FC is no longer operating in the Sunderland Sunday League or joining the South Shields Sunday League.
However the team of Chris Knowles, Joe Hajsadr, Rana Jawanda and Stephen Leng have decided not to give up and will be putting a new team into the Sunderland Sunday League.
The new team will be going by the name Park View United FC, we are currently working on the paperwork side of things and the page is not in anyway complete but its a start.
See you all soon.
Chris

So that's the end of the 2022/23 season and we've ended on a better points total than last season.
Today's game was a 12 - 2 loss to Nine Pins FC with goals from Wisdom Owuna (also MOTM) and Harry Nye.
We also seen a return in goal for Troy Baker, a outfield debut for Jonathan Fenwick, the playing retirement of Assistant Manager, Chris Knowles and the last game managed by Peter Briggs.
Unfortunately we are saying goodbye to many players who are heading off to new challenges and we wish them the best of luck.
Bring on the next season...

"Even the air feels different when we win" - Wisdom
Today’s game shows how good we can play as a team. The first half we dominated the game and had 18 shots but unfortunately no goals.
Second half a was a fantastic battle between two teams but it was an excellent trivela/toe-poke ball from Brandon MAVEN to find Wisdom OWUNA who beat the keeper with a lobbing header that broke the deadlock.
We held on for the win and all the points taking our total to 10 for the season.
Jonathan FENWICK was given MOTM by The New Derby for so e great shot stopping but his dad should of got it for squaring up with their CB. Jonathan also took the armband when captain Saville came off injured.
Adam NYE, Charlie BAIRD, Stephen SAVILLE, George DEVINE and Paul GOUGH all had a good game and were solid in areas.
Brandon MAVEN got an assist today but his first half was brilliant and he worked very hard on the wing.
Connor FOWLER had one of his better games today on the other wing and played well unfortunately had to come off near the end due to injury and was replaced by Kyle DAVIES.
Wisdom OWUNA and Michael COWIE had probably their best match paired together in the middle of the field with good passing and winning the ball.
Troy BAKER did not ask for the ball to his feet much today but worked well on and off the ball and had a few attempts on goal unfortunate not to score.
If you wanted anyone to score it would of been our MOTM, Matthew HENDERSON. Matty had his best game for Park View and worked his arse off today.
Rana JAWANDA came on for Hendo and done well his best contribution was a great block with his head (which probably knocked his newly grown hair follicles out)
Chris KNOWLES came on for Brandon and helped to wind the clock down and blocked the last attempt on goal which was the quickly cleared by George.
Everyone did their jobs today and it was excellent to watch and the support on the side was excellent too (the injured Tripod even showed up).
This was a game we needed to win, we take this positivity onto the next game.

We went into this game with a potentially light on numbers team against the current league leaders thinking it was going to be a case of hold on for dear life/damage limitation. Oh how wrong we were!
I will start off today saying how our training is now paying off. So a massive thank you to Joesph Hajsadr for taking the sessions and Chris Hill for when he does the fitness.
Plains Farm took the early lead after a good cross from PF was not taken care of and opened the scoring but instead of letting our heads drop we equalised with a good cross of our own from Wisdom Owuna to meet the head of Troy Baker.
PF restored their lead after a long range shot was not closed down quick enough.
Wisdom did put the ball in the net in the first half but after it was blown for a very questionable offside call by the referee (who rarely left the centre circle).
The second half I believe we were the better team and again had the ball in the net two more times, one from Karl Grey and the other with Troy Baker lobbing the keeper. Unfortunately both chalked off for very questionable offside calls.
PF had a few chances but were either stopped by the wall Jonathan Fenwick or the defence.
Every lad played their part today and gave 110% and I feel we were unlucky not to atleast get a point from this game. We will take the many positives from this game and go on to the next...
