I have been working with Homestay Direct Limited for over a year now. When I started I had multiple credit card debts and was unable to go on holiday. Now, a year later I have paid off my credit cards and am looking forward to going on holiday with my children in August. I love Dawn and Karen. They have helped me no end and I will be eternally grateful to them. I was sceptical and had reservations about hosting students but it is actually the best thing I have ever done. I have a spare room and put it to good use. In addition my own children have grown in confidence and have helpers with their French homework! I would say to all, try it. You will be surprised how much fun it can be.

FOR POTENTIAL HOST FAMILIES THINKING OF HOSTING

We have been hosting for almost one and half years with Homestay Direct Ltd and have been enjoying every aspect of it. We are empty nester but with hosting, there is never a dull moment. We have learnt a lot of other European cultures, languages, and food and have impacted our own culture to our guests. The additional income from hosting allows us to leave financially stress-free but most important of all is the efficiency and professionalism of the organisers Karen and Dawn. They provide the hosts families with the hosting schedules months ahead and this enables us to plan around our hosting periods. They keep us well informed of the guests, their ages, diary needs well ahead of time. We are constantly updated on the drop-off and arrivals of the guests each day. I will recommend Homestay Direct to anyone with empty rooms in their home and the love of children in their heart.

THINKING OF BECOMING A HOST FAMILY?

I am a relatively new member of the team having worked with Dawn and Karen over the last 6 months. I am happy to share my pictures with the many students we have hosted from France, China, Germany, Poland and Czech Republic. What an enlightening and enjoyable experience it has been for my family and I. As you can see, I am a feeder and love nothing more than us all sitting down together to eat and talk about our day.

Hosting students was recommended to me by my friend and I love it. I would say to all "give it a go if you like a busy house and love to cook".

THINKING OF BECOMING A HOST FAMILY?

I found the below note on the bed of my students last week. They were adorable girls. Polite and respectful and a joy to host. If you are thinking of hosting, I'd say go for it. Yes, you have to do a little work as with every job but hosting is very rewarding. I am a widow and love the company of the students especially in the evening. The house is full with laughter and door slamming!

Some of my friends can't afford their lives but are to ashamed to admit it or do something about it. I tell them all the time, try hosting with Dawn and Karen - you won't look back.
