Gemini Signs and Designs

A friend of mine is off tomorrow morning on a mega charity road trip to Scotland and back (via Wales) to raise funds for a local hospice. All on a vintage Massey Ferguson tractor. He popped by this afternoon for a quick finishing touch on the tractor.

Nice little job the other day. Lovely old village shop is nearing completion after a major refurbishment. Yours truly was called upon to give it it's identity.

Just realised that I didn't post any pics of the belly tank racer that I finished earlier this year. It is powered by a Triumph Bonneville motorcycle engine. Hence the name, oh and also a nod to where the bike in question got it's name originally.

Finally laid the last bit of paint on the 1903 Cadillac. Fully lined out chassis and body.

Caught up with it recently at a car show in Kent

I write on some unusual things at times. A pub that I do signage for has a large meat smoker. They asked if I could put their logo and it's nickname on it also some warning notices.

Another day, another vintage motor.
A 1928 Sunbeam.
Client required the name painted on to the bonnet sides like it was back in the days of Brooklands etc.
Beautiful car with a hand built body.

Nice little job recently on a 1932 Ford hotrod. The client wanted the car club name painted along each side of the hood. The lettering was to look 'distressed'. Plus the clubs spark plug logo. Yours truly obliged.

Finally finished the other end of the Whiteshark barn. It was so warm I couldn't touch the metalwork at times. Quite a change from a few weeks ago.

Yesterday, on what felt like the only sunny, dry day this month, managed to get the other end of the Whiteshark barn set out. Just waiting for another dry day to paint it out. ( Pics Copyright P. Moore :) ).

Did a little bit more on the 1903 Cadillac earlier today. Well, not the actual car but one of it's vital parts....the toolkit bag. Pete asked if I could paint the Cadillac logo onto the leather.

Another one of these has turned up, I won't lie to you, I do enjoy lettering out these kind of things.

Who knew that frostbite could be a hazard for signwriters. Lettered out a side of a new barn build last week. (Other end is pending) Client specified hand lettering, so hand painted it was. Could only manage about 3 hours each day due to the cold. Oh, and it's a corrugated surface as well.....

Something a little different the other day. Junipers in Maidstone, a dive bar underneath The Herbalist pub. Illuminated back bar panels made from frosted acrylic sheet. SAV was used to allow for any changes in the future.

The Cadillac delivery body is now finished. It and the car are currently at a specialist garage. They will fit the body and undertake some minor mechanical work. Next job will be coachlining the car. Watch this space....

The 1903 Cadillac rolls on toward the finishing line. Little bit of snagging tomorrow and it's done.

I signwrite on many different vehicles but this has to be the oldest. It's a delivery van body that bolts onto the rear of a 1903 Cadillac and turns it into a commercial vehicle. The owner has asked for a Louis Vuitton livery. I have been given photos and some mock ups to work from. I usually wait until a job is finished before posting up, but this is a bit special. More to follow....

Just completed some new signboards for The Pig and Sty in Bethersden, Kent. One of the Elite Pubs group. The originals were too far gone to repaint, so new boards were made and signwritten to match the old style.

Featheredge fencing today. Rough as a Badger's wotsit...but came out ok I reckon.

Another little job with an automotive theme.
Valve covers from a vintage Chrysler V8 engine.
These will be refitted to the rebuilt engine in due course.
The lettering is stamped into the steel creating a raised logo.
What at first glance would seem a simple job, actually turned out to be quite challenging. Due to the paint and the way light created highlights and shadows it was tricky to see the edges of the letters.
Anyway, couple of coats later I got there in the end.....
