Seren has loved college life and is learning that she can make choices and people will listen to her.

Everyone wants to look their best, including student Seren, who enjoys wearing make-up.

With the help of her Speech and Language Therapist Heather, Seren has created a checklist of the make-up she might choose to wear each day, which her support team can refer to each morning.

So whether it is lipgloss she fancies, a touch of bronzer or mascara, Seren is completely in control of her own look each day.

What a beautiful example of how our specialist therapy teams support students to be in control of their own lives. Looking good Seren!

Apparently driving nails 🔨into an old iron transforms the domestic object into something violent. Seren knows an iron is a weapon 🤕even without any additions…and Aunty Trish didn’t need to teach her that!! A fun, often bizarre and occasionally thoughtful couple of hours at (recommend the cafe’s bagels 🥯), with a wander around and for the city at night to start a quick London trip.

To be fair, Swansea must be one of the leading cities in providing these crucial facilities.

Two new ‘Changing Places’ toilets are being introduced at Knab Rock and Rhossili as part of a £300,000 investment in improving Swansea’s public toilet facilities.

The Changing Places are specialist facilities for people who live with complex disabilities and are part of a commitment to improve the accessibility of popular destinations, across Swansea.

Cyril Anderson, Cabinet Member for Community Services, said work on the changing places facilities was due to start in the coming months and would be subject to planning permission.

He said: “We’ve agreed to seek planning permission for Changing Places at Knab Rock and Rhossili because feedback from consultation with a range of groups showed that disabled people wanted the same level of access to these hugely-popular locations as everyone else.”

Cllr Anderson added: “We’ve already refurbished the community toilets in Clydach and at the Botanical Gardens in Singleton Park and more work is planned for other facilities too.

“We’re introducing new, modern signage at all our toilets so people can get all the information they need about opening times and locations of other facilities using QR codes to look-up details using their smart phones.”

He added: “Public toilets are important to all of us. The council invests heavily in improving as well as cleaning and maintaining facilities. But we’re in the hands of the public and we need everyone to play their part by treating toilets with respect and to report faults or concerns to us promptly.

The package of measures are part of policy commitments pledges signed off by Full Council in July, which promised to make progress on a range of priorities that matter to the people of Swansea within 100 days.

Every little change is a move in the right direction

A little bit of history is being made at the 2022 TCS London Marathon on Sunday when for the very first time a limited number of assisted runners will be allowed to take part in the iconic race. This marks an important step towards inclusion in major events and it has taken years of discussion behind the scenes and the support of some very famous olympic and paralympic athletes to make this happen! As the UK's leading manufacturer and supplier of chairs for assisted running Delichon Ltd is delighted that this will pave the way for more of the runners we work with to participate in the future.

Among the lucky few that have been selected to join the 40,000 other runners are Jo and Alice who will be using their distinctive purple Delta Run to complete the 26.2 mile course.

All too often we have to work incredibly hard to really involve Seren in a family day out. But this was an amazing day out for all of us and especially Seren…a spellbinding immersive experience at the .experience Bristol. A chance to create, and have displayed, your own masterpiece 😜, a clever VR journey through the landscapes that inspired him and not once did we feel rushed. Two lovely hours
