The goalkeeper

You stand there alone between your sticks,
Sometimes bored and not showing your goalkeeping tricks.

It’s hard to stay focused when the ball’s up the other end,
But your time will come when you will need to defend.

You watch your teammates run and score,
Watching them celebrate and wanting more.

The ball’s coming closer to your goal;
You ready yourself—it’s your time to go.

The ball flies straight at your top corner,
But you jump high, denying the scorer.

With the ball in your hands and teammates cheering,
You know in your heart there is no better feeling.

Because for you, as a goalkeeper, you are the difference it makes;
To draw or lose a game, one save is all it takes.

Been a chaotic few days from Wednesday morning to having taken two sessions and now in the hotel ready for my first game tomorrow with and looking forward to it! Couple more games to complete 400 as well! ⚽️🧤

Really enjoyed my time with a great group of players, backroom staff, and a small group of office staff who work tirelessly. The fans who followed us round the country on long away trips and the vocal home support made it a really good time and I wish all well 👏🏻👌🏼

I made a mistake and purchased a full set of SHG kit a size too small. I have all items untouched in XXS. Fit u10, u11. Paid £60 but happy to pass on for £50 if any of your parents are interested.

After three years at Steve Hale Goalkeeping School we are delighted to announce young Sidney Angell has signed for Swindon Town Academy.

Sidney, a talented young goalkeeper and a bubbly energetic popular member of our goalkeeping school will be sadly missed.

Sidney twice won our Goalkeeper of the Month award and we are delighted to see his progression rewarded and wish him well in the next steps of his footballing pathway
