When we decided to ask people to sponsor bricks to raise funds for our village hall . The vision was to create history for our village.

The Mitchell family embraced the idea and put together a brick family tree of 34 bricks made up of family names and memories of Skipness.

William McCormick Mitchell born in 1904 and his wife Janet Campbell Mitchell born 1906. Moved to the village of Skipness permanently in 1940 and retired in 1974 and moved into Bayview now known as Campbellā€™s cottage.

They had 8 children 4 girls and 4 boys, 5 of them born at various properties in Skipness. The family, particularly the boys, spent part of their working lives on the Estate.

Three family member visited the village recently Raymond (son in law of William and Janet), Gillian and Alasdair (grandchildren of William and Janet) .

Dugald Mitchell in conjunction with other family members compiled the family brick tree also the History of the Mitchell family connections with Skipness.

Brochures are available from outside the village hall and shop they can also be emailed to anyone that is interested in sponsoring a brick or bricks by messaging Skipness Village Hall page .Or by phoning Jill Thompson on 07788582664
