FLOOR LEVELLING
The wooden floor of this upstairs bedroom was 3” out of level. The joists were 7” which left 4” on the joist at the lowest point. The client is delighted to finally have a room that feels level.

The owner of this property makes apple juice every year and needed a rack to store the bottles.

CONSERVATORY RESTORATION

This conservatory was built with good materials, but it was poorly maintained. I would never recommend applying varnish to outdoor wooden surfaces. None of them can withstand the constant expansion and contraction of the timber, and eventually they all peel and flake off leaving the timber exposed to the air.

Timber rusts just like stee rustsl, The silvering is an oxidised layer and when this layer is removed, the original timber is still there underneath. When all the varnish is removed the timber is oiled with a high quality Danish oil.

Easy when you know how.

This room is very narrow. The first thing I suggested was removing all the shelving. Once they were gone, the room feels much more spacious.

A lighter colour on the wall will help make it feel bigger too.

FLORA AND FAUNA (Milverton)
The corner beading had been badly fitted and there was some settlement cracks which appeared on many of the walls. Cracks were taped and filled, and then the whole room was painted in Dulux Soft Fauna (number 3)

WINDOW BOARD RESTORATION
the surface of the boards had worn off in places. All it needed was a sand and a revarnish. A hard setting wax oil that will seal and protect wood was used for the top coat.

MIND THE GAP
The skirting on this old stone building is fixed firmly in place but there is a large gap between the skirting and the wall. The gap looks unsightly and it creates a home for a variety of insect life to thrive.

The gap can be filled and stained, and made to look the same as the wood.
