What better way to celebrate bonfire night than with our very own bonfire!

We had hot chocolate and stories around our fire whilst learning all about Guy Fawkes. The older children enjoyed the fizzy sparklers, as we talked about the fireworks we had all seen . . .
BANG, POP, SCREECH, CRACKLE were all the noises we had heard!
We also made our own role play bonfire and sparklers to recreate our experiences and our very own Guy (luckily he was spared from the fire!). We have all been busy making lots of firework artwork and yummy chocolate apples too 😀

It's great to see this topic being talked about more in the media. Most people want to feed their families nutritious foods but misleading packaging and health claims disguise whats really hidden within. Our advice is to just start checking the label for ingredients and making yourself aware of what your family are really eating.

🍁 Autumn Days 🍁
We've been busy exploring the changing season these past few weeks, picking Autumn treasures and incorporating them into our play spaces.

🧡We have created Autumn treasure baskets and sensory bottles, which the Baby Owls love to investigate.
🧡Explored the gooey pumpkins, crunchy leaves and prickly conkers we found at home and brought in to share.
🧡We have made fabulous art by rolling conkers and pinecones, painting leaves and dying our own rice to make pumpkin pictures.
🧡we have even managed to capture all the senses by making sensory bins and playdough using fragrant spices like cinnamon and nutmeg...Little Owls even made 'smelly' paintings!

Our Wise Owls having been learning all about different occupations these past few week . . .
from fire fighters to hairdressers, chefs to doggy day care, doctors to construction workers.

Through play children learn to navigate the world and test their skills. Our mission is to show every child that their possibilities are endless and they can be anything they want to be 🧡

Thank you to everyone who came to our Macmillan Coffee Morning- Stay and Play on Friday, it was great and definitely something we will arrange more often! We had a lovely morning and raised over £100 in just 1 hour for the fantastic Macmillan Cancer Support 💚💜

These next few weeks our Little Owls team will be helping our 2 year olds develop early mathematical concepts and language:

Our unique, self developed curriculum allows our teams to plan thoughtfully for each group, by knowing what their individual needs are at any given time. We introduce carefully chosen resources into the children's play areas for them to explore freely as well as planning adult led activties to really embed knowledge and help children reach their full potential.

It's always a bittersweet day saying goodbye to our Wise Owls as they get ready to spread their wings and fly off to big school but giving them an afternoon filled with fun and laughter is the perfect send off 🧡🧡🧡
