Thropton Show

We really hoped that you enjoyed the show this year - the number of entries was amazing and added to a good show. However, as we are sure everyone is aware, costs are rising. This year we made a substantial loss due to the increased cost of the marquee, toilets and general expenses involved in putting on a show.

We have a scheme in place called "Friends of Thropton Show. This Involves people donating a small amount monthly to the show - £1, £5 or whatever amount they can afford. In return for doing this you are entitled to 2 free entries into the show and 10 free exhibits in the tent and a voucher for £5 to spend anywhere on the show field. We will also be reinstating a raffle prize (which is drawn at the show) whereby there will be a voucher for £50 from a local business.

Thank you to everyone who braved the weather and came to the quiz last night at the Three Wheats.

We raised £210 that will go towards the cost of next year's show.

We've had an idea to add a little friendly competition to the show.

One of the classes in the children categories is a drawing or picture with a climate change theme.

Aswell as putting the age of the child on the ticket if the name of the school was also added we could find which school has the best artists!

A big thank you to everyone who came to the quiz last night it was a good night. Thank you to George and Gail for letting us takeover the bar, thanks to the brilliant quizmaster Stevie Kidd - who would have thought bingo could be so tense!

We raised £220 which will be donated to the Northumberland Mountain Rescue Team 😀

The committee met on Thursday night to review how the show went this year. One of the main areas we look to improve is the entries tent next year.

Does anyone have any ideas of any classes we don’t currently have that would be good to add for next year please?
