Unit 1497 rebuild program

Good afternoon no progress to report as we are awaiting delivery of more ply sheets so the we can motor on with the cabs and 1st class compartments

Well hello there today's progress report is as follows the motor coach seats are all refitted and the walls ready for the formica panels and cab 2 is almost complete

Afternoon we are again hard at work with cutting out and fitting more pannels in the motor coach as well as the cab pannels and we may even start refitting the motor coach seats!

Hello again we are back on unit 1497 today to finish the ply sheets started last week and weatherproof Them and hopefully start refitting the motor coach as usual new pictures will be upload later on today

Another day completed and very successful all the panels cut out and ready to be treated and refitted pictures below of our successful work today as British rail would say we're getting there

Hello again we are back on unit 1497 and we have started measuring and cutting the new plywood wall panels and then we can start refitting the motor coach

Hello again another update for 1497 yesterday we started stripping the other cab also we had a tidy up inside the unit and we have applied more weather shield and also diagnosed we need to fit a new door to the guards compartment some pictures of the door below

Hello again another update for you on unit 1497 both cabs of the unit are coming along swiftly yesterday we stripped down all of the rotten Wood from the cab fibreglassed any holes and have treated the cabs with weatherproofing to prevent any further damage and it was a jolly successful day as British rail would say we're getting there

Good morning we are back at work on Unit 1497 rebuild program further fibreglassing and filling is under way and further anti corrosive painting inside the unit

Good evening further update on the Unit 1497 rebuild program work has since ground to a halt due to weather and it being the Xmas period however work will resume in the new year so it's cheery ho for now but we will be back on the unit in January till then have a jolly good Christmas and new year!

Good evening no recent updates to report on unit 1497 as the weather has been to awful to continue with work at the moment and also as it is the polar express season at the railway it's rather difficult to carry out work at the moment but rest assured work will continue shortly

Good evening below is the first of many updates and pictures of current progress on unit 1497 class 421 CIG below are the photos of work that has been achieved today Saturday 25 November 2023 coach work has continued on one of the cabs Its been fibreglassd and filled with body filler and painted and tomorrow we will be continuing with sanding down more of the other coaches on the train and also applying more interior protection to the wood and walls inside the 1st class compartments
