✨⭐️✨It's Homeopathy Awareness Week!
Here is my story of my Homeopathy journey... how it all started.
Before becoming a homeopath I was a qualified nurse, specialising in intensive care. I discovered homeopathy in 1988 when working in a homeopathic hospital in Germany as an Intensive Care Nurse. Although conventional drugs have been the main choice for treating the critically ill patients there have been times when homeopathic medicines were given too, and the results were amazing! A few years later my first son was born in that same hospital. Again, I was amazed and fascinated about the wonderful effects of homeopathy as I watched my newborn son getting well within minutes after having been given just one dose of a homeopathic medicine to restore his vitality.
This led me on a path of discovery and fired my passion for healing, until I graduated as a fully qualified homeopath in the summer of 2006 and I have been in full time practice ever since 💚💛💚

✨⭐️✨ It's Homeopathy Awareness week so I thought to give you a glimpse of my work as a homeopath in my practice 💛
A Day in my Online Homeopathy Clinic
These days my clinic days are always full so I often start clinic as early as 8.30 am. First job in the morning, however, is to answer my emails that have come in overnight. Enquiries from new clients and general phone enquiries will mainly be dealt with before I see my first client at 9am. My consultations are held via Zoom or Google Meet though home visit consultations can be accommodated on request for anyone local.
On a typical morning I see up to 3 patients - follow-up consults last up to an hour, whereas the initial consultation takes up to 2 hours. An in-depth consultation is essential in both first and subsequent sessions as to fully assess, analyse and to then prescribe the correct homeopathic medicine. After lunch break I resume clinic and, depending on whether I see a client for the first time, a regular follow-up session or a patient who seeks help for an acute condition, I might see up to 5 more clients. I mainly prescribe there and then, meaning at the end of the consultation. If a case is more complex, I will spend extra time to analyse the case data in order to prescribe the correct remedy. This has to wait until after I have finished clinic. Prescriptions will be posted to the client on the day of the consultation or, if the client is local, they will collect on the following day.
Who do I treat? I have a general practice and thus I am treating people with a variety of health issues and conditions, be it an acute condition, such like colds, flu, coughs, earaches, tummy upsets etc, to chronic and more complex conditions, such like arthritis & rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, hay fever, skin conditions, thyroid problems, adrenal fatigue, anxiety disorder, depression, insomnia, childhood behavioural problems to mention a few. I see babies & toddlers, school kids, teenagers and adults of any age group in my clinic. Clients who I have treated successfully years ago come back as soon as a new health issue arises. At least 50% of my daily practice encompasses both children and family health. I encourage my clients to buy a Homeopathy Basic 18 or 36 Remedies Kit from Helios (our local homeopathy pharmacy in Tunbridge Wells), so that they have access to homeopathic remedies at any time.
Many of my ongoing clients, particularly mothers who have young kids, further their knowledge by doing my ‘Homeopathy First Aid Course’ which I currently offer twice yearly. Here they learn about how homeopathy can help their family for coughs, colds, flu, tummy bugs, bumps and bruises.

The Power of Listening

💚The powerful effects of listening in a homeopathic consultation should not be underestimated! This also applies to brilliant observation skills (body language, colour of facial skin, the white of the eye, tongue etc).

⭐️ Anyway, today was one of those days when I realised once again that just listening to a patient’s concerns, feelings, worries and complaints, with no prejudice or assumptions, is very healing in itself. This was testified by the daughter of a patient as I handed over her mum’s homeopathic (follow-up) prescription. Her mother has not really been well since the death of her husband a few years ago. Some of her previous health problems have worsened and she is now suffering with new conditions (including lymphoedema and congestive heart disease). The daughter said that both she and her brother (who had been here for a short visit from overseas) noticed that after the initial consultation a month ago their mother’s voice was different (lighter), her eyes had “that sparkle that was missing since her bereavement” and that her face was glowing. At that point their mother had not had her first remedy! It seems obvious that this patient benefited greatly from just taking her case, from being asked all these questions and being listened to. She felt understood. And the homeopathic remedy Ignatia facilitated further healing, allowing her to cry and grieve for her husband. Her daughter said to me today that the homeopathic treatment gave her mum new hope.

⭐️ Honestly, I feel so blessed and privileged to be treating this lady. It is such an honour to help people. To see such a lovely change in a person’s life after just one consultation is simply amazing. All I can add to this is that Homeopathy rocks!

One of the highlights this week was to see an elderly lady with a small open cut/spot on her leg. Honestly, I have to say it once again - homeopathy never ceases to amaze me! One of the highlights of today is the progress of a lady I have been treating for about 18 months now. Amongst a few ailments she'd presented was impaired hearing due to a benign tumour in her ear that affected her balance, hearing and her vision. Her recent scan revealed that although the tumour hasn't changed in size , her thorough audiology test revealed that her hearing has improved quite significantly! This is the most incredible news ❤️💚❤️ Since her homeopathy treatment she no longer experiences dizziness, her vision has improved, but the best news is that she no longer wears her hearing aid ❤️ Her consultant said that she'd never seen anyone's hearing getting better with that particular type of tumour! So, all good news indeed!

⭐ When you come back from a short break to a full diary in a 4-day-week 🙏 I saw 25 clients already and 2 more appointments tomorrow morning 😍 It's great though to see the progress my patients make. One of the highlights of this week is the incredible progress of a 10 year old girl who's been crippled by OCD and very unpleasant intrusive thoughts for some time... It's lovely to hear that since her last set of homeopathic remedies her anxiety was much reduced and she's been able to cope so much better with all the demands at school ❤️
