Wet Room project West Wickham.
Some Before, during and after photos.
Initially, after a site visit and discussion with my customers want of a wet room but concerns that the room was so small that a wet room was not possible.
I designed ( by hand drawing ) my suggestion to recess the wall back to accommodate the WC and basin in a recess cove to create space in room to accommodate a wet room installation that A; has room to enter & exit the wet area & B; has the feel of a bigger room. Creating the space & feel of a much bigger room (than it is) is done by the use of cove recesses, niches and LED lighting. The said recesses and niches are positioned and built to millimetre exact tile grout lines, planned to precision days before any tiling starts. The Entire room is WEDI boarded, taped, tanked & sealed before tiling and the tray is Wedi’s Rilitto linear drain system with the tiled in drain grate option. Water does not even puddle in the slightest anywhere, the whole room falls to the drain. Villeroy & Boch fitments along with the app controlled digital shower (twin outlet) Opitic Q from Aqualisa finish it off to the highest spec 💦🔥

Just a little update on my previous post regarding the cost of the public purchasing a gas boiler from any supplier rising by an average £110 from 1st Jan 24.
After further research I’ve discovered exactly why.
The UK goverment are to fine all boiler manufacturers as per the following ;
All boiler manufacturers, selling gas boilers out of the UK must sell one renewable energy heat pump for every 100 gas boilers sold. If they do not meet this obligation the UK government will fine them £3000 for every one heat pump not sold. ( bare in mind the bigger outlets can sell over 40 boilers day !)
The boiler manufacturers know they will not meet this ridiculous target because heat pumps are extremely expensive and ineffective in the U.K.’s winter weather system.
So consequently, the boiler manufacturers are adding on average £110 to all gas boiler prices so as to absorb the fines. Once again, it’s the working and middle class public that are hit in the pocket. We are in the middle of an energy crisis with people freezing to death and the government increases gas boiler costs by 30%. You could not make this up.
People can barely afford to buy a straight swap gas boiler installation let alone the cost of converting their homes to renewables @ 10’s of thousands.

Note; The UK Government have passed a bill in The House of Commons to force all boiler manufacturers selling boilers in the UK to increase the cost of ALL gas boilers by £110 plus vat from 1st Jan 24.
This is to discourage you from buying Gas appliances & force customers over to renewables.
( All very good if you can afford renewables🤷🏻‍♂️).
My advice if you need a new boiler is do it now before 2024. Here if you need me 👍🏻🔥

Well we like a challenge at XCEL and this certainly was just that. Our client had stayed at the prestigious London hotel Claridges for his 53rd wedding anniversary. He decided he liked the bathroom at the hotel so much that he was going to treat him & his wife to a new en suite bathroom replicating Claridges design. And so started this epic project.
Working along side the superb design and supply team at Towns Bathrooms (located in Tonbridge) we completed our clients dream en suite bath and shower room. The project had the added aspect of the property being 700 years old farmhouse with timber beams that have been certified by the British Heritage Association to have come from the Spanish Armada fleet. Room was completely striped and re plastered to create a perfect finish for the untiled wall areas to be painted. New ceiling lighting, recess light and extractor fan are installed along with the back lit vanity mirror.
Bath has been positioned to allow the user to take advantage of the incredible estates 100 acre grounds view from the window. The shower has a rain shower 15” flush ceiling mounted outlet with diverters to 3 wall body jets and a hand held outlet. The glass shower panel is special order size due to low ceiling height.
The vanity unit is special order made to measure in Italy with marble top and upstand. The solid white resin bath is free standing complimented with the beautiful exposed shrouds freestanding bath mixer. The toilet with built in electronic bidet wash arm system is from TECE with concealed wall frame to allow wall mounting of pan. The client opted for the wall niche recess with light in the shower which is very handy for showering condiments to be close to hand. They are very happy with the results as are we.

Ideal 40kw Vogue system boiler with 450 litre water accumulator producing 3 bar pressure at 25 litres per minute going in too along with 18 rads and 200 metres of under floor heating with 3 x individual control zones.
And the all important low-loss header of course. 🍃

Another boiler serviced this morning & 10 year warranty validated for another 12 months. Fitted by us last year and customer asked us to taylor make a bespoke cupboard around it too which we was more than happy to oblige. Boiler servicing on these new boilers is absolutely essential. Don’t moan in December when yours break down due to lack of preventive maintenance 🤷🏻‍♂️ All the very best 🤣👍🏻
