Here at Thompson's Bakery, we take great pride and care to ensure that each and every one of our products are baked to perfection, using only fresh good quality ingredients. You can place your order via Facebook messenger.

•CELEBRATION CUSTOM CAKES/CUPCAKE ORDERS:

We ask that all celebration cake orders are booked at least 4 weeks in advance, however please feel free to get in touch as we may

have last minute availabilities. (Orders booked less than 2 weeks in advance will will require an additional charge of £10). When ordering a wedding cake please give 3 months notice.

•TRAY BAKES, TREAT BOXES AND CAKES IN GENERAL:

Do you just want cake for cakes sake? We do a wide range of delicious cakes and sweet treats, ranging from homemade strawberry tarts and cake pops to our beautiful zesty lemon drizzle. treat yourself. Please order at least 24 hours in advance. (48 hours for parties of 6 plus)

•AFTERNOON TEA, PLOUGHMAN'S AND KIDS BOXES:

A selection of home-made pastries, traditional cakes and scones with jam and clotted cream. When ordering an afternoon tea for one, you can choose 2 different sandwich fillings. When ordering a tea for 2, you can choose 3. Kids boxes choose 1. When booking we will inform you of our delicious sandwich fillings and cake choices. Please give at least 24 hours notice when placing your order for afternoon tea. (48 hours for parties of 6 plus)
Prosecco and champagne is available to add to your order for an additional cost. please ask for details.

•PARTY PLATTERS, BUFFETS AND PICNICS:

These bookings require a telephone consultation so that you, the customer can pick and choose from our large variety of party and picnic favorites. Orders for platters and picnics need to be placed at least two weeks in advance. Buffets, four weeks however please check with us for any late availability

•DEPOSITS:

We ask for a non-refundable 30% deposit on all orders to secure your chosen date, this can be paid via bank transfer or cash. Thompsons bakery will reserve and confirm your order only when this has been received.

•COLLECTION AND DELIVERY:

Collections are from the DE21 area of Derby and are to be arranged prior to the order date. Most celebration cakes may require an additional person to hold the cake so please bring help if possible. Once the order has left the premises it becomes the responsibility of the customer and we can not be held accountable for any damage caused. Advice will be given to the customer on how to transport the cake. You can have your order delivered. Celebration cakes have a delivery fee of £20 in the derby area. All other orders i.e. afternoon tea and treat boxes have a £5 delivery charge.

•CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES TO YOUR ORDER:

All cancellations must be given either via email or Facebook message. If for any reason you need to cancel, please give one weeks notice for celebration cakes and 24 hours notice for all other bakes and afternoon teas. All deposits are non-refundable, however if you need to change the date please contact us and we will attempt to make new arrangements. Any last minute changes requested for custom cakes may be subject to additional charges and can not be guaranteed.

•DIETARY REQUIREMENTS:

Please state any dietary requirements or allergies when ordering. If you need additional information please do not hesitate to contact us for a list of ingredients. We are always happy to accommodate your needs, however it is the customers responsibility to inform us of any allergies or sensitivities to ingredients. Thompson's Bakery holds no responsibilities for any injury or illness resulting from this if we were not informed upon booking.

Just a little insight...
So many people say oh that's alot for just a cake... take a look, this is based on my smallest cake of 6 inch x 4 layers yet I charge around the same for 8 inch x 4 layers working for literally £7/£8 per hour. So please when ordering a customised cake do take this into consideration just like anything that's customised it costs more.. you don't walk into BMW choose a top spec car with all the customised extras and expect to pay for the basic motor...doesn't work like that.
You don't work for free or let your boss hackle your hourly rate so please don't do it to us bakers, we put our heart and soul not to mention the hours into making your cake perfect for you so please show some love and decency back. X🤩🥰

Hello beautiful people.. I've decided that I'm sticking to strictly loaded chocolate cakes, the vintage love heart and bento boxes...(and of course my wedding cakes)
Prices vary but take a look and if you need a celebration cake please don't hesitate to drop me a message.. delivery for an extra small fee...🤩😍😛
