Well that’s it…. My little fun project is done!

It’s a 🐄 incase you couldn’t guess…. And at 3kg she’ll make an excellent door stop 😁.

We have just delivered a new ‘Hurd’ of elephants and bulls to Joni Bluebell Mara at Bluebells on The Tything, Worcester….. loads of choice, textures and colours and of course all handmade - so each one is unique!

While waiting for some leather to arrive for my ‘flower project’ I thought I’d make something out of some 2mm scrap pieces of leather I have in my ever growing odds and ends box.

Can you guess what it is…?

I’ve been a bit quite on Facebook for some time as life has been a bit busy - and I’ve been making things for me rather than selling.

I’ve been asked if I can make some flowers by Joni at Bluebell’s on the Tything in Worcester. I said I’d have a think….

Here is Mk1 … just in the rough…. This is moulded leather.

Just arrived in stock is some lovely English made purple 1mm leather.

Joni at (based on Barbourne, Worcester) now has some purple elephants to add to her stock if you can’t wait for the post!

While waiting for some more thread to arrive (my latest project needed 45 meters) and I over estimated what I had…I thought I’d make a toiletries bag for myself.

I’m quite pleased with it and with 2mm Suede (sourced from a tannery in Somerset) and hand saddle stitched it will last for years and years!

If you would like one, please drop me a note and we can discuss zip and thread colour making it unique to you!

It’s taken every evening this week.. but 25 pieces cut, pricked and edged for my new overnight bag.

I’ve gone for 2.5mm Suede… now the sewing begins in earnest. I’ve gone for a nice read which will really make the bag pop!

We haven’t posted up anything for a while! But you can rest assured a lot has been going on in the background with development and planning!

So new for 2022 so far - and will be on the website next week, are these lovely pencil cases… saying that though I’ve been using one to keep my glasses in too!

Another win for Curious Casper today!

Bluebells on the Tything in Worcester have just taken delivery of a broad range of our products…. From our little leather elephant and bull key rings to purses and cable keepers, all the way through to our pyrography products with clocks, ‘noughts and crosses’ boards and cup coasters.

Pop in and see Joni to have a look, as well as see all her other stock in this wonderful little gift shop!

As Christmas approaches we have been working hard on our latest order of 180 leather key ring elephants!

A lot of work has gone into production of the elephants as well as individual packaging and instructions….

These elephants have been ordered for a corporate client as Christmas gifts and fit neatly into A5 card envelopes, ready for Christmas cards to be added!

A great day with Sarah and Chris Greening on their Glass and Pottery workshop. I even managed to make a new Curious Casper glass coffee coaster!….. Sadly I did manage to ruin my best pot right at the last moment though… butter fingers! 😁

I had a fun session today with the new ‘hot foil’ press to mark up out lovely leather and wood products.

It will take a bit of experience and experimenting but the results look great!

An inspirational week by the beach has lead me to make a lovely little ‘bucket bag’ for our hosts.

Made from lovely red leather with a magnetic catch and heart details, it was a pleasure to make and looks stunning!

Ok it’s only a small thing, but another move forward! The labels for Curious Casper arrived!… I’m not a fan of sellotape so when an order is sent through the post - the tissue paper holding your lovely new purchase will have one of these on 😁

The new Website is taking a bit of time to create as I have created quite a few ‘standard shop’ items as well as the ability to bespoke some things.

However here’s a sneak peak!

Tonight I finished my first hand made leather commission 😁!

Based on a brown leather ‘pen / meetings roll’ I made for myself recently, I was able to provide a list of options from leather thickness, leather colour, stitch type and thread colour….. A lovely deep green was chosen which was saddle stitched with linen thread - and if I do say so myself, it turned out rather nicely.

The new Curious Casper Website / Shop will be up and running soon offering a wide variety of leather craft - all hand made and hand stitched by me here in Worcester - but in the meantime here are some photos!
