Join us for the last public lecture of the academic year as we explorer just how you can get the bat research career of yours dreams....
Bat ecologist Morgan Hughes talks about how itβs never too late to pursue your dreams, change your career, or sit in the rainforest by yourself, at night, under a sleeping bear in a tree.
Morgan is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of UmeΓ₯ in Sweden and a University of Wolverhampton alumni with a research focus on bats of anthropogenic, riparian and lentic habitats . She is a mental health advocate, field teacher, Operation Wallacea Scientist, and was the 2022 recipient of the UKβs prestigious Pete Guest Award for Outstanding Contribution to Bat Conservation.

Dr Chris Young will take you on a journey through the Adventures in Student Fieldwork. Chris is the subject leader for the Animal Behaviour and Wildlife Conservation subject area at the University of Wolverhampton. Chrisβs main responsibilities lie in delivering topics including wildlife conservation, conservation biology, landscape ecology, applied animal behaviour, geographical information systems and fieldwork at all levels. As part of the fieldwork remit, he also has led or co-led field trips to Wales, the Lake District, Poland/Slovakia, South Africa, India, USA, Azores and a range of other European destinations.
The free lecture is on Monday 4th March at 7:30 pm at the Arena Theatre. Complimentary snacks and drinks will be available from 7 pm. Simply pop along and learn something new!
