Calling all stage schools!
Do you have any children who would love the opportunity to shine in the 40th Anniversary amateur production of ‘Les Miserables’? We’re looking for boys and girls aged 8 - 12 years old to play key roles within the show and be featured in the ensemble.

Auditions will take place on the 20th October, and we’re asking each school to register interest in sending 4 boys and 4 girls to audition for the show. Casting for the roles of Little Cosette, Little Eponine and Gavroche will be done on this day, as well as other ensemble parts.

Andy is delighted to be making his debut with NYPA Adults and even more so in an antagonist role. Some of his previous roles include; Aldolpho in ‘The Drowsy Chaperone’, Curtis in ‘Sister Act The Musical’ and Ali Hakim in ‘Oklahoma’.

Andy is a ‘Mourne man’ whose accent will hopefully not sound too familiar onstage. His favourite things about being in a musical (besides his love for musical theatre that is) are the social aspect of meeting some amazing people and to push himself outside his comfort zones.

During the day Andy is a youth worker for the YMCA with a real passion to see young people thriving especially in areas of mental health and achieving their goals. He loves reading, board games, being a big eejit and anywhere close to the sea.

Sean is a 1st Year Student of Law in QUB. Sean has been a member of Newry Youth Performing Arts for over 2 years. He went to St. Colman's College and studied History, Politics, Religion and Business Studies for his A-Levels. Sean has played music for several years, including Double Bass, Bass Guitar, Ukulele, and singing with Flynn Performing Arts. He has performed previously in St. Colman's College's productions of 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’, ‘West Side Story’, ‘Billy Elliot’ and 'Les Misérables', British Youth Music Theatre’s 'Breadboy' and 'Naughty Carriage on the Orphan Train’, Newry Youth Performing Arts' productions of 'Annie', 'Grease', '9-5', 'Nativity', 'Les Misérables' and 'West Side Story' and has played in the Ulster Youth Orchestra. He is looking forward to playing 'Franz' and hopes you enjoy the show!

James has played a wide variety of roles. These include a follically challenged billionaire with questionable adoption techniques in Annie. An infamous and life affirming (not to mention wardrobe altering) role as a cross dressing laundromat owner in Hairspray. The egotistical, self absorbed, trophy hunting villain in Disney's Beauty & the Beast and the toy obsessed, overgrown man child in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. More recently James has been the menacing, pig slop serving, lonely smoke house dweller in Oklahoma!, The orphan recruiting, situation reviewing, pocket picking scoundrel in Oliver! and the confusing and high heel wearing school caretaker in Nativity.

James would like to sincerely thank Jordon, Wilson, Paul, and the entire creative team for the privilege to perform with such a fantastic company.

Ruairi McAlinden has returned to the stage with NYPA but his first time with the Adults. Having played Lt. Schrank in West Side Story.

A Software Quality Assurance Coordinator by day, he works with testing the quality of online sites and applications and ensuring that they conform to regulations and laws for people with disabilities.

Ruairi is not shy to the stage having taken part in musical theatre for many years. Having picked up nominations with AIMS for Best Comedian (Orin Scrivello - little shop of horrors) , And Overall Best Performance NODA (Buddy the Elf - ELF).

Ruairi has played a number of roles with other societies over the years: including BMS, BMDS, NMS. Roles including: High Priest - JCS, Reuben/Pharoah - Joseph, Buddy the elf- ELF, Curtis Jackson - Sister Act, Orin Scrivello - Little Shop of Horrors, Horton the Elephant - Seussical the Musical.

Ruairi is looking forward to playing his favorite character in his favourite musical.

Naomi is a Senior Support Worker/House Administrator for a charity that supports adults with learning difficulties and has also created her own tribute act ‘Taylor NI’ inspired by Taylor Swift, Naomi has been touring her mini concert across Ireland since the beginning of 2024.

As a performer Naomi has sung with RPNI Events, Singers Secreto, Singers by Surprise, P*P Productions and several societies and companies around Northern Ireland. Favourite roles on stage include Fantine (Les Miserables ), Sandy ( Grease ), Miss Hannigan ( Annie ),Eva Peron (Evita) and Esmerelda (The Hunchback of Notre Dame), Carlotta (Phantom of the Opera) in such venues as the Grand Opera House, Great Hall Downpatrick, Theatre at the MillThe MAC.


Naomi has been nominated for Best Female Singer at the annual A.I.M.S awards and continues her vocal studies with international operatic bass Graeme Danby
