Kilgetty thirds are off the mark with a 2-0 win over Milford United 3rds.

The first half saw little action with both teams struggling to create chances with both sides looking to find cracks in the opposition defence. A penalty came and went for Kilgetty as the scores remained 0-0.

Half time came and went and the second half started much brighter with chances falling at both ends of the pitch. Kilgetty goalkeeper Liam Woolley pulled off a great save one on one to his right before the follow up was cleared off the line by full back Jake Collier to keep the game level.

Kilgetty would be the team to break the deadlock with Miller Phillips getting on the end of a delightful Max James cross at the far post to put the thirds ahead.

Shortly after Miller found himself on the ball again, this time on the wide right where he would beat his man and whip in a wicked ball into the box where Richard Cope's head was waiting to power the ball into the net, 2-0.

Both teams would have chances to score in the last 15 but all would go begging thanks to both teams defensive work. The score would remain 2-0 to Kilgetty 3rds giving them their first 3 points since the team re-established.

A tough evening for the 2s as they came out as the losers in St Clears.

Kilgetty started well as they looked to knock the ball around for the opening few minutes, but a defensive mistake saw St Clears through on an open goal to make it 1-0.

From there the 2s struggled to get settled and found themselves 2-0 down at halftime after St Clears capitalized on their attacking chances.

The second half didn't start much better for Kilgetty as they conceded a penalty in the opening few minutes which was despatched into the bottom right corner.

The saints extended their lead to 4 in the 61' minute but Kilgetty striker Andrew "Ginge" Evans fired in two quick fire goals to bring the game back to 4-2.

With that Kilgetty pressed on and looked to bring the game back but chances came at a premium and weren't taken. In the last 10 st clears would counter attack and bury another chance to make it 5-2.

A late penalty save by keeper James North came as the whistle sounded the end of the match. A tough day but one with positives to take into the next match as they will look to better themselves when they face Goodwikc United reserves at Phoenix Park.

The points were shared last night when the firsts made the trip to Clarbeston Road for their midweek fixture.

The hosts started strong and dominated the majority of the game, but their efforts were fruitless in the first half thanks to strong defending from the Kilgetty backline.

In the 73rd minute, Clarbeston Road efforts would be rewarded as substitute forward Laurie Haworth managed to bag himself a goal putting the hosts 1 in front.

Kilgetty, however, would fight until the end. Lloyd Hughes would gather the ball and sprint with it down the wing. Following some neat touches between the team, the move would end with player-manager Joshua Bevan playing the ball into Jordan "Scaff" Gorman who was on hand to finish the move, making it 2 in 2 for Scaff so far this season and bringing the score to 1-1.

Kilgetty efforts would not dwindle in the dying minutes, Rhys Hewson hitting the bar late on and Scaff almost grabbing his 2nd of the night. Despite this, the match would remain 1-1, both teams picking up a point in their league campaigns.

A valiant effort from a third team last night as they came up just short against a youthful Hundleton Reserve team.

The thirds struggled to get off the mark and conceded two quickfire goals early in the game, losing possession after some neat football from back to front.

Not to be deterred, the lads started to get their foot into the game as the team chemistry could be seen to be improving by the large crowd of onlookers. However, it was Hundleton who would strike again just before half time, despite the brave goalkeeping from Alex "Seb" Thomas, almost keeping the ball out of the Kilgetty net.

With the last kick of the half, Tom Harries would bundle his way past the Hundleton defence to slot the ball into the back of the net making it 3-1. Ignited by this, Kilgetty started the second half strong playing tidy football and creating chances in the opposition half.

In the 68th minute their efforts would be rewarded courtesy of an Aled James thunderbolt from 35 yards that the Hundleton keeper could only watch as the ball hurtled into the top right corner.

Kilgetty continued to press on despite the opposition looking dangerous on the counter with their youthful pace and skill but strong defensive play from centre-back pairing Anthony Lewis and Tom Rossiter as well as the second half fullbacks of Tom Harries and Jake Collier kept Hundleton from extending their lead.

Unfortunately, an equaliser was not found for Kilgetty but the lads put in a performance full of the belief and grit that Kilgetty AFC is built on and which they should all be proud of.

The seconds kicked off their season last night, picking up a good point when they visited a strong Neyland side.

Neyland started strong early on and took advantage scoring two goals to take control of the game early in the first half.

Andrew "Ginge" Evans had other ideas though and hit a half volley past the Neyland keeper at the near post to start to pull Kilgetty back into the game.

Shortly after a defensive mistake meant Kilgetty were on the receiving end of a penalty, which "Mr Reliable" James North was on hand to hold onto, low to his left.

"Ginge" would double his tally shortly after the start of the second half, when he ran through on goal again and slotted into the bottom left to make the game a stalemate once again.

Both sides had chances to win from there on out. A miraculous double save from James North keeping Kilgetty in the game in the dying embers with the game finishing 2-2.

Starting the season off strong πŸ’ͺ

The firsts played a talented Pennar Robins side last night and came away with a 2-0 win after a spirited performance.

A Lloyd Hughes run down the right hand side ended with a low driven cross in front of the face of goal that Jordan "Scaff" Gorman got on the end of at the back post and buried in the top left corner to make it 1-0.

10 minutes later Morgan Scourfield nicked the ball off the toes of a Robin defender on the edge of their box and rushed through unchallenged on goal, finishing coolly into the Pennar net.

The rest of the game brought a plethora of twists and turns but thanks to terrific defending by Kilgetty defenders and safe hands by goalkeeper Kurtis "Festa" Marsh, the Robins would not score and the match remained 2-0.
