Bamboo Fabric Undershirts

Bamboo Fabric Undershirts

Closer fitting than a T-shirt, better looking than a vest, our sweat absorbing bamboo fabric undershirts have a smooth and luxurious feel on your skin.

Undershirts that feel cool to wear and absorb your sweat. A close fitting design with double panels under the arm holds sweat away from your shirt allowing it to evaporate with just your body heat. Our design includes underarm pockets so you can insert disposable sweat pads. Great for those that need extra protection. We call it Protection Plus. See our website for more info.

Last time I posted it was 1°C. Take that winter! And that's not all that's changed. Since our first tentative toe in the water back in March there's been lots of interest in bamboo undershirts. So much so that we've designed a new summer collection and come up with a whole new look. Yesterday we launched a new online shop under a new brand, Robert Owen, Luxury Undershirts. See it's all NEW! Come over and take a look at our lightweight summer bamboo undershirt nicknamed the Oxford. http://RobertOwen.Co

Mmmmm, glad I'm wearing my extra bamboo layer this morning. 1°C day time temp in London and the sky is grey (again). Here's a photo to warm us up.

I like to wear nice shirts, but I always used to worry about sweat marks. Not any more.
That is me in the photo below, when I used to work for the BBC. I love wearing colourful bold shirts. They look great and they make a statement. The problem was I'd be worried all day about sweat marks under my arms. If I get just a little bit warm I sweat. Usually more in my right arm than my left - don't know why. Anyway it always bothered me so I decided to do something about it.

T-Shirts never looked right and cotton or polyester always seemed to smell. So I investigated bamboo and found it was smooth and silky to wear and didn't smell much at all. Great - but I could not find an undershirt that looked cool. I wanted something you couldn't see under your shirt but looked great when you take your shirt off. So I decided to make them myself. Well not really me making them - that would be a disaster - I searched out some clothing experts and worked with them on a design that feels snug against the body, absorbs sweat in all the right places, and hides away under the shirt - even with the neck open. It was a lot of effort to go to but it was worth it. Now I have the most comfortable undershirt I've ever worn and I no longer worry about sweat marks or odour. It's got some cool features like a pocket built into the the panels under the arm. If the double panels aren't sufficient to absorb your sweat then no problem, simply insert a sweat pad or guard into the pocket. That gives you extra absorbance and shielding for those that need it and the pocket means it'll stay in place. We are thinking about producing our own range of pads based on natural oils with antibacterial properties like lavender and orange oil for an even fresher feel. I'm really exited about it as a natural alternative to harsh antiperspirants (read more).

Last thought. Me and my experts went to a lot of trouble to make sure the undershirt felt good and was hidden under my business shirt. The thing is, it looks good on its own, so you can take your shirt off. I guess that's no bad thing :)
