The Gowan Robed The Gowan Robed. An interpretation of a beautiful song by Tom Fairnie. I highly recommend checking out his work at the website below. https://tomfairnie.com/home-news Written by Tom Fairnie and Bob
Well I've been quiet on the festival for a while as I've been concentrating on other things. But that doesn't mean things aren't moving. I'm delighted to announce we will be joined by Aileen Ogilvie. Aileen is a singer, songwriter and creative practitioner from the Highlands inspired by stories of people and place, folklore and landscapes. Traditional music and song (Gaelic and Scots) have been a big part of her repertoire as a singer. Not only will Aileen perform at the festival. But she will also lead a singing workshop on the day too.
Nice wee seat in the sun before a musical meeting.
We are starting to get the acts organised for this year and have our first agreements. Looking forward to making the announcements at the end of next month
SAVE THE DATE. The Wee Fife Folk Festival 2024 will be on the 26th October.
The dust has settled, and I can whole heartedly say that, the second Wee Fife Folk Festival was a great success. All the tickets were sold and the acts put on a great night. Huge thanks to John Davidson, Twa Threeds and Glastur.
The only disappointment for the day was the turn out for the kids concert. There had been 30 bookings online and we agreed to allow 4 more come along. Unfortunately only 8 kids turned up out of the 30+4 bookings. We want to offer this as a free concert, but will need to rethink for next year how we go about it.
Plans for 2024 are already in place.
A wee video from the marvelous Glastur at the Wee Fife Folk Festival.

Well that's the 2023 Wee Fife Folk Festival over and done. What a great night at Carnegie. Unfortunately I left my phone on the far side of the stage for the first half and didn't get any pictures of John or Twa Threeds... 😕. But here is one of Glastur.
