Tough weekend.

Just one week; and then I may take myself off on holiday for a bit.

Over 6 years ago I wrote this poem about a long-standing complaint I rarely actually voice.

I have waited until the right time to publish it, which is today.

Thinking of Georgia who has never seen snow

The inequality a second child will know
You squatting to ski, only 15,
I without surfboard until hitting 19.

Oh, the tears,
The venting of spleen,
The inevitable knowledge you are stuck in between.
The hubris, the love, the giving despite laughter,
The inevitable hamartia
Of happy ever after,
The intemperance and ferocity
against undisclosed truth,
The personal worthiness, appearing aloof.
Impenetrable voice “I am enough”
The flight of some choice and the truth of the dove.

The abuse
Practiced and easily repeated.
The rising above.
The keeping of secrets.

That currently practiced,
Transference of issues,
Metaphorical guns, lack of self-recognition.
The waiting, the understanding it’s such a long game.
The denial of clashing, the beauty, the shame.

The repetitive karma, the abuse that you know.
The inevitable truth, Georgia has never seen snow.

These days, I have a really good relationship with money. I don’t need for much and actually have an abundance due to multiple income streams of cultivated by working bloody hard.

I manage to also have time: I don’t always have to earn my money now as I did when I was a younger man.

So I feel like I live from abundance, but also place an exceptionally high value on my generosity, which I tried to deploy from a place of wisdom.

Some situations around money that are effecting me deeply at the moment:

- A place where I have been a customer - now ostensibly banned because I won’t provide certain information and been asking difficult questions - and other places where I have self-excluded because I refuse to be exploited like a tourist. This all near where I live in NW Corfu.

- A gypsy boy, about 7 years old - last night requesting money from me when actually changing up 700 lek at a food stall on the road side he managed to beg into Lek! Of course, I refused, but offered to buy him a drink (which he then attempted to exchange with the stall holder, before I had paid!) she said “no”, I offered to change it for some water I was carrying. And, finally, off he went.

Then this guy, not clearly begging but engaging with people passing on the corner in hope of help in the coolest part of the day on a street corner.

I passed him and returned with 1000 Lek. No problem. He needs it right now way more than I.

I would be curious how this lands with you, reader or friend. Please feel free to give a reaction and pls comment to boost this post. 🙏🙏

So, I recently watched “Living in the time of Dying” on YouTube:

https://youtu.be/UftuDAkwM3I

It had a profound effect on me, I have to say, and I have recorded a video response.

The part that effected me most deeply was from just after the 38 minute mark, when Dhar Jamail recounts his choice of how he was “absolutely as present as I can be” when his friend, Dwayne, died.

It is well worth watching and listening to, I think, and those 2 minutes especially, but I quote his words for those who don’t make the time to watch / listen but are reading this:

“And I feel that’s where we are on the planet right now.

Like, is it a given that the human species goes extinct? No. Does it look like that is what’s going to happen? Very, very, very likely. It’s really hard to see how this does not end that way.

But we don’t know for sure. And so - I don’t add the ‘but we don’t know for sure’ part to give false hope. I add it just because I think we have to have enough humility to say:

‘We’re this tiny little speck of life on earth. And we’ve never been here before. We don’t know what’s going to happen.’

We know things are going to get extremely, extremely hard and bad. And I think it’s a given that billions and billions of people are going to die.

Does that mean all the species goes? Who knows.

But it means: here we are, in this moment, where we can still love the Earth, we can still love each other, and we can still take care of each other and the Earth as best we can.

And I think it just brings all of that into focus right now.”

Oh! Look at this.

Circling Cornwall's immersive training is arriving finally! Subscribe to see, share with those who will be keen.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwzF01d5522EF7k9bTPDU2w

Thanks to everyone who has given ideas and feedback on our 3D immersive training and practice films. These are designed for people who are nervous / curious / want to get an idea or prepare for attending an in person AR or Circling event before attending, or just to practice in a place comfortable to you: anytime, anywhere.

We're releasing a lot of free content (get your goggles now!) over the next couple of months, at around the same time as this post and on YouTube.

Please subscribe to our YouTube channel to get a 'heads up' for when the next free immersive films will be premiered and access all our FREE content as it is released.

If you do manage to stream Don’t Look Up and aren’t on Netflix, please don’t stop halfway through if you want to finish it!

Do you ever get the impression that more people will come to your events if they could just get a taster for what the experience will be like, and get mentally prepared? Hopefully they would even become excited and comfortable with possibilities!

We hope that the resources we have recorded since May this year will be that answer! If you are interested in being in the focus group to look at these films before anyone else, sharing your thoughts and feedback, please get in touch.

Our 3D Training Videos, designed to ideally complement an in-person session and also really good with goggles to practice on your own, are in!

We are so excited about the possibilities of this. It will also be possible, at least initially, to purchase an inexpensive (under £10) set of goggles. These, with the assistance of a mobile phone, will enable the viewer to experience a 3D immersive, practice experience, as close as going to an AR or Circling event as possible without leaving the comfort of your living room!

As ever, we are keen to get all of our communities' feedback and also that of people who like our page or practice / have practiced with us online . PLEASE MESSAGE us to be part of the focus group that will have the first opportunity to view these resources in exchange for your feedback and ideas.

As well as thanking Falmouth University for their support, we also need to acknowledge Christopher Bunn, then Pixapdos Klark for taking a lead with this project. Also Gail Ward for her support with this process!

We hope these will not only encourage people to try out our practice in a safe environment, but also to showcase how beautiful and welcoming as a place to be Cornwall is!

Being the sole player in the start up, on retreat, allowing others to take a lead (if they wish and when they don’t have their own active community) at home with Circling Cornwall CIC, gives quite some freedom.

Living here is easy & retaining diacipline, an ongoing trial amongst all that is colourful.

Hi All,
As we enter November and another in the UK, we working at / with Circling Cornwall CIC have plenty more online activity to keep the lockdown blues away and provide whilst everyone is stuck at home!

Please LIKE our page to keep up to date with offerings via zoom.

Right now, we have recordings of recent Spring Forest with the warm down also to come, on our timeline. This will be linked below this post. Most exercises take less than 10 minutes to complete; you can do one each day for a week or watch the whole series back to back to undertake an online QiGong session that is about 1 hour in length.

We have a further FREE offering for you if you are available on Thursdays. We offer 2 sessions, at zero cost, 10 am and 7 pm GMT with a facilitation team and facilitated breakout exercises:

https://fb.me/e/2VXI1ieBK

Just message us to be added to the messenger group where we share a zoom link each Wednesday to participate.
We are also about to start a round of closed group Circling skills sessions on 10 November, 18 hours of Circling across 6 weeks, Tuesdays - Thursdays:

https://fb.me/e/5NPuhDIKv

Two of our team are also offering six 90 minute sessions, thematically focused on attachment following trauma, starting Saturday 14 November:

We hope to welcome you to as many of all these events as possible. Please SHARE with your friends, invite anyone interested, and come and join us!

Circling Cornwall is Creating more connection! 02/09/2020

Thursday Evening Circle 7 - 9 pm BST

Hi All,

Please find the zoom meeting details below: if you need other details such as dial in please message me directly.
Anderson Knight on FB.

We try to inform you as much as possible about Circling Cornwall and how we run sessions. We also want to balance that with your not experiencing information overload. We are also making these sessions easily / immediately accessible, so if you haven’t yet seen the event description or have just joined this group we recommend reading event details on Facebook:

https://facebook.com/events/s/zoom-thursday-at-1900-bst-lond/261306625064670/?ti=icl.

VITAL INFO for your attendance at this event, below:

TIMING and ACCESS:
7pm BST is midday Pacific, 1 pm Mountain & 2pm Eastern Time, 8pm Central Europe, 9 pm Eastern, LATE in Asia & EARLY across Australia!

is recommended to arrive a few minutes early: we are capping numbers according to a ratio of 3 participants to each available facilitator in a break out / the main room. That said, even if you are a couple of minutes late, we will accommodate you if possible. We aim to lock the call 5 - 10 minutes into the call although if we see people in the waiting room or pick up a message at the start of a session we will try to accommodate you.

As a general rule, though, room will be locked either when the ratio threshold is met or when the lead facilitator requests admin to close the container (probably - usually - a maximum of 10 minutes).

We will send a reminder about 30 to 90 minutes before the meeting starts tomorrow.
