We'll build some heat with a 60 minute energising flow (suitable for beginners). Working on firing up the core and shifting any stagnant energy that's trapped in the body.

After this we'll get chatting, tuck into some freshly baked pizza from Crust Social and wash it down with a refreshing Flash House pint, brewed on-site! I recommend their Tommy Y, brew - it's nice and light! 🍺 Don't drink? No problem: soft drinks and non-alcoholic beers available.

Optional walk from the Fish Quay along the middens around to Tynemouth.

Of course, beer and pizza have nothing to do with Yoga, but community does and that's the aim here - to connect with others, and in turn help connect to yourself.

🖤YOGA ASSISTS/ADJUSTMENTS 🖤

A good assist in class can be the most incredible experience.

They can help you to feel more grounded or stable in a posture, to help you feel into the alignment or to aid relaxation.

However, I have had assists that have had the opposite effect - leaving me uncomfortable and less confident in my practice.

For this reason, I would say that I am, in general, a fairly hands off teacher.

I will only usually assist students who I have been teaching for a while. Not because they’re my favourite… but because I know their bodies better: their strengths and their limits. I would also hope that are confident enough to not be polite if something isn’t working with an assist.

When we take control over out breath, it can be used in so many different ways - to energise, to calm, to balance. Our breath can be an amazing tool for helping us to regulate our emotions and energy levels.

During this workshop we will break the breath down to the very basics learning how to fully breathe. After this, we'll break down some different techniques that can help us to alter our energy levels and mindset. We will take the techniques from Yoga - a mixture of Pranayama and Kriya practises.

On personal level, when I learned to breathe in different ways, I was able to help manage some of my symptoms of poor mental health - calming me down when I felt anxious and also bringing me up when depression was more prominent.

We will begin with some calming and grounding breath work, work through a range of very gentle postures and rejuvenate during Yoga Nidra ( a type of Yogic sleep) we will have a short break to have a drink and then finally, we'll learn and practise some gentle Thai Massage to aid relaxation.

Absolutely no experience of Yoga is necessary - all movement will be at a sloth-like pace and we will have plenty of props (cushions, blankets, bolsters) to support.

We’ll start with a dynamic flow to fire up the muscles that we’ll be using for our headstand and arm balances.

After this moving into specific drills to help our body understand the positions of the postures.

We will focus on the foundations first - headstand and crow. From here, we’ll have a go at some transitions between the two and also some other fun variations of the postures - including one legged crow and funky headstand.

It’s a totally no-pressure environment - working at a level that works for you. We’ll have a mixture of working alone and in small groups. Making sure that we’ve always got that little bit of extra support.

Spaces are limited so there will be lots of time for personal feedback.

🌊 F R I D A Y M O R N I N G S 🌞

I used to spend my Friday morning convincing children to be still and silent during celebration assembly and then sing naff songs. I actually quite liked it in hindsight.

However, I can say without a shadow of a doubt I prefer my Friday mornings now - captures so perfectly by

It has a lot of similarities in many ways, we celebrate each other, cheer and laugh when someone wins but there is also time to be sad, to be quiet, because life isn’t always frolicking in the sea & sunshine.

January has been a very tough month for some, and the strength and yet simultaneous vulnerability that you have shown has been moving.

JANUARY DIPPING 🌊✨

My energy levels are on a rollercoaster this month.

I struggle to differentiate between types of fatigue: physical, mental and emotional and therefore what type of rest I need.

I love leaning into REST - the fires, naps + hot water bottles kind; but maybe the rest I need isn’t physical.

Enjoying nature can be known as a type of sensory and creative rest. A break from overload of the mind, rejuvenating creativity.

Although the thought of going in the sea is, quite frankly, horrifying at times, I ALWAYS feel the benefits. A sharper mind, reduced stress and generally a better mood.

We'll begin with a dynamic flow to get he blood pumping and switch on the muscles we need for the peak pose/poses. Then we'll move into a work-shop style part of the class where we can break it down, ask questions and support each other in the poses.

We'll try a mix of headstands and different entrances in and out of them to find which one suits you best and which ones you want to work on. So this is perfect for those brand new to headstand, or those who want to try a little more variety.

This will be a small group of six so that I can ensure that I can give 1:1 support and differentiated options.

No experience of headstand is necessary, however, the flow to start is quite dynamic so prepare to get the heart rate up and feel the burn.

✨ Getting upside down is in my top 5 life activities ✨

It’s like being a kid again - except we’re stiffer, heavier and more scared.

Perfection isn’t the aim, accepting that you might fail, and doing it anyway, is.

Life is hard, what’s going on in the world is horrific so, for me, it’s important to find those snippets of joy when possible. The joy of building each other up rather tha tearing each other down is a priority!

✨Yoga and Body Image Workshop ✨

In front of the fire, we’ll snuggle up with steaming mugs of tea and have a deep and meaningful chat about Yoga, body image and everything in between. By the end of the chat, I hope we will have destroyed some myths, challenged stereotypes and discovered new ways to help us nurture that ever important relationship with ourselves.

For the second part of the session, we’ll get our gorgeous bodies moving with a gentle flow and finish with a guided meditation.

For a lot of people, this is a tough subject - trust me I understand. It will be a relaxed atmosphere where you can join in as much or a little as you like. My main hope is that yoga can teach us a few wee nuggets to help is navigate the weird world we live in.

Everyone teaches Yin a little bit differently. When I teach, it is a REALLY mellow practice.

The majority of the class is usually done lying down using a range of props to support us so we can fully relax into each posture for 3-6 minutes.

The idea is that we go deeper than the muscles and we begin to relax the tissue around our joints - ligaments, tendons & fascia.

Sometimes I hear a little purr 💤, sometimes people hold hands 🤝- it’s just lovely.

We begin the class with a strong and fast paced flow specifically designed to prepare our bodies for wheel.

The second half of the class will be more of a workshop style so that I can work individually with students to find a variation that works for them.

I LOVE props and that will be no different for wheel - we’ll use everything from blocks, the wall each other to help us access this pose.

As we move through the series, we’ll explore different transitions in and out of wheel - having a bit of fun along the way.

No expectation that you can already do wheel, however it is quite a fast paced and strong flow so be prepared to break a sweat.
