Drainage repairs – A3 Main Road, Higher Foxdale
The Department is to undertake repairs to a series of roadside gullies between the junction with the A24 Mines Road, to a point near Costain’s scrap yard on Main Road, Higher Foxdale.
Work will start on Monday 18 December and take up to four days to complete.
Suspension of parking
All parking will be suspended on both sides of the road from Mines Road to a point 100 metres south of Costain’s Yard.
Traffic Management
Two way traffic will be maintained using temporary traffic lights. Pedestrian access and access to premises will also be maintained.
Highway Services
Patrick Commissioners
10th November 2023 – 8th December 2023
Road closed from the junction with the Shoulder Road through to Glen Maye.
RE: Arrasey Road Resurfacing
We write to introduce ourselves as the Principal Contractor, working on behalf of the Department of Infrastructure, for highway overlay at the above location.
The works will commence on the 10th of November and will be completed no later than the 8th of December, subject to any unforeseen delays.
A full road closure will be in place between the A36 Shoulder Road and Glen Maye Village. – Warning signage will also be erected at these points for reference.
For the majority of the works such as preparatory works the road will likely not require to be closed, a closure is only required when the asphalt material is being laid. As works progress, completed sections of the road will be reopened as soon as possible, however we ask you observe localised signage as workforce may still be in the vicinity.
A full closure order is in place, however we will endeavour to keep closure periods to a minimum. A diversion route will be implemented for all through traffic as per the attached plan.
Access will be maintained for residents for the vast majority of the closure period, however during asphalt laying operations, vehicular access may be temporarily restricted, in certain areas, during the day time only (8:30am – 5.00pm). Should this be the case, residents will be advised by our site manager ahead of time.
Pedestrian access to all properties will be maintained at all times, however please observe all localised signage that may be displayed during the period.
Increased construction traffic will be present in the immediate vicinity - we will, of course, endeavour to keep inconvenience to a minimum and ask for your understanding during this period whilst these critical works are carried out.
Should you have any queries or require additional information in this regard, please do not hesitate in contacting our office. (01624 676831)
Yours Sincerely,
Jack Cooper

Thank you so much to everyone who put their trust in me and voted for me on Thursday. I am absolutely delighted to have been elected and I'm very much looking forward to serving you over the next five years as your Member of the House of Keys for Glenfaba & Peel.
I would like to congratulate all other candidates who were elected, especially Kate Lord-Brennan who I am looking forward to working alongside for the good of the constituency and the Island.
Thank you to John Watterson for the photographs.
Best wishes,
Tim
I’ve had a great final day canvassing and would like to thank everyone who has given me time on their doorstep during the last four months. For those of you that I did not manage to make it round to, I can only apologise and hope that anything you would have liked to discuss with me was addressed in my manifesto.
I have compiled all concerns and issues from doorstep conversations, to conversations in the street, emails and public meetings and have I not yet done so already, I will follow these up as soon as possible should I be elected tomorrow to serve you as your MHK for Glenfaba and Peel.
I am a proud resident of this constituency and have so much passion and enthusiasm to do what I can for it, as well as the Island as a whole. Regardless of the outcome tomorrow, you will see me out and about, always happy to talk.
I would like to thank my family and friends in advance who are giving up their time to support me by greeting voters at the doors of the polling stations tomorrow.
Should you require a lift to your local polling station, please don’t hesitate to contact me and I’ll be more than happy to assist - 497782.
Thank you very much for your support.
Best wishes,
Tim
Tomorrow is the day, Manx people...!
We've been discussing various clever things to say for Thursday, but in the end it's just this: Please vote!..for your own sake, for the candidates, for your constituency, for our democracy, for the nation - it makes a difference.
Much of what we celebrate about the culture and spirit of this Island rests on this hard-won right to vote, so have your say, make your voice heard!
