Starting Monday 1st July until 30th August we introduce our summer opening hours from 8 am to 3 pm! ⏰ This means you can now plan your visits earlier in the morning and avoid the sweltering heat and dreaded traffic.

🚗 By opening earlier, we aim to reduce travel during the hottest and busiest parts of the day, allowing you to enjoy a smoother journey and a more pleasant experience overall.

📅 But wait, there's more! If our standard hours don't quite fit your schedule, don't worry! We understand that life can be hectic, so we're offering appointments outside of our regular working hours, but by prior appointment only. Just let us know in advance (details below) and we'll do our best to accommodate you!

In Spain, as in many countries, there are specific documents and items that must be carried in your vehicle at all times. This requirement is not only a legal obligation but also a practical necessity to ensure smooth interactions with authorities and to be prepared for emergencies. Below is an overview of these essential documents and items:

1. DRIVING LICENCE

☝️ Purpose - Identification and proof of your eligibility to drive.
✔️ Details - The licence must be valid and appropriate for the vehicle type.
➡️ Alternatively - You can use a notarized copy instead
➡️ Another great option is to use the very popular MiDGT app, available here: https://sede.dgt.gob.es/es/appmidgt/

2. PERMISO DE CIRCULACIÓN and FICHA TÉCNICA

☝️ Purpose - Shows that the vehicle is registered in your name.
✔️ Details - It includes information like the vehicle's make, model, and registration number.
➡️Alternatively - You can have notarized copies instead
➡️Another great option is to use the very popular MiDGT app, available here: https://sede.dgt.gob.es/es/appmidgt/

3. ITV CERTIFICATE (MOT) & WINDSCREEN STICKER

☝️ Purpose - Proves that your vehicle has passed the mandatory technical inspection (Inspección Técnica de Vehículos).
✔️ Details - This is required for cars over 4 years old andmust be renewed every 2 years for vehicles up to 10 years old and then annually.

4. INSURANCE

☝️ Purpose - Proof of mandatory vehicle insurance.
✔️ Details - You must have proof of insurance which needs to cover at least third-party liability. It's advisable to keep a copy of the insurance receipt as well.

5. EUROPEAN ACCIDENT FORM

☝️ Purpose - To report any accidents.
✔️ Details - This standardised form is used across Europe and helps in the amicable settlement of accidents.

6. REFLECTIVE JACKETS

☝️ Purpose - For safety in case of breakdown or accident.
✔️ Details - The jacket must be within reach from inside the vehicle (not in the boot).

7. WARNING TRIANGLES / EMERGENCY LIGHT

☝️ Purpose - To alert other drivers in case your vehicle is stopped due to an accident or breakdown.
✔️ Details - Two triangles are required, and they should be placed at a specific distance from the vehicle.
❗ However as of July 2021 the V16 light signal can be used instead or in addition to the triangles, but from 1 Jan 2026 use of the V16 is compulsory and must include a geolocation system connected to DGT 3.0.

8. SPARE TYRE / REPAIR KIT

☝️ Purpose - To replace a flat tyre.
✔️ Details - Includes a jack and wheel brace. Some vehicles may have a repair kit instead.

9. FIRST AID KIT & FIRE EXTINGUISHER

☝️ Purpose - For emergency situations.
✔️ Details - Not mandatory, but highly recommended for safety.

10. LIGHTS & BULBS

☝️ Purpose**: To ensure all vehicle lights are operational.
✔️ Details**: Carrying spare bulbs is advised, although not a legal requirement.

COMPLIANCE & PENALTIES

Non-compliance with these requirements can lead to fines and legal issues, so it’s important to ensure all documents are up to date and in order. Remember, these regulations are not only legal formalities but also measures to enhance safety on the road.

We have a full-time position available as a Customer Service & Enactments Administrator, based in our Algorfa office. Starting annual wage €19,000.

The applicant must provide excellent customer service to our customers, their loved ones, and to the funeral director throughout all stages of an Avalon Funeral Plan. It is important to the role to be able to communicate fluently in both English and Spanish. The role is predominantly within the Enactments Team and within normal office hours, however, there is a requirement to be on call out of hours on a rostered and bonussed basis.

The Royal British Legion’s 2023 Poppy Appeal launches today and sees the introduction of our new plastic-free poppy ♻️

Made entirely from paper, the plastic-free poppy is available alongside stock of the existing poppy to reduce waste, and can be recycled in ordinary paper recycling collections.

Since its emergence as a symbol of Remembrance after the First World War, poppies have taken on various shapes and sizes.

From handmade silk and cotton poppies to wartime poppies, 2023 sees the biggest change in the poppy’s design for a generation.

Wearing your poppy shows you care, and helps the Royal British Legion raise vital funds to support the Armed Forces community all year round.
