Itโ€™s really important to know your own body, know what your normal for you. But, to start with letโ€™s discuss whatโ€™s what:โฃ
๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿฝโ€๐Ÿฆฑโฃ
๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฉ๐˜‚๐—น๐˜ƒ๐—ฎ - the outside of your organs made up of the l***a majora and the l***a minora, the urethra, cl****is and perineum. Cancer can and does affect the ๐—ฉ๐˜‚๐—น๐˜ƒ๐—ฎ. It can cause discolouration, raised areas, awful burning, stinging and itching. โฃ
๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพโ€๐Ÿฆฑโฃ
๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฉ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฎ - the bit of your body also called the birth canal. This is the part of your body that connects the v***a to the cervix. Itโ€™s super clever an maintains its own PH balance and produces discharge. ๐—ฉ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ could cause some pain, irregular bleeding and bleeding after s*x.
- the part of your body that contracts and dilates to allow you to have babies. Cervical cancer can often be silent, but it can also cause irregular bleeding, bleeding after s*x, pain, constipation, kidney pain, back pain, bloody discharge or foul smelling discharge. โฃ
๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿฆฑโฃ
๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—จ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜‚๐˜€ - carries babies and sheds itโ€™s lining causing us to have periods. Look out for irregular bleeds, pain in the back, pelvis and legs too as well as any nasty bleeding in between periods, heavier periods than usual (for a sustained period) and things. Uterine Cancer can also be related to the BRCA gene. โฃ
๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿฆฑโฃ
๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—™๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—ง๐˜‚๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐˜€ - these tubes carry the egg released from ovaries down to the Uterus. Ovarian cancer can develop here and then move to the ovaries, but lately Iโ€™m seeing more and more cases of dedicated Fallopian tube cancer diagnosed, itโ€™s symptoms a lot like ovarian cancer. โฃ
๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโฃ
๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ข๐˜ƒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜€ - Ovaries are where all of our eggs are stored. Ovarian cancer is often hormonally aggravated and can also be caused by the BRCA gene ๐Ÿงฌ. Look out for bloating and swelling in the lower abdominal region, and a lot of โ€œIBSโ€ type symptoms occurring too, pain in the lower back and pelvis & irregular periods โฃ
The BRCA1 gene is most notably associated with Breast Cancer ๐ŸŽ—but it does have an affect on certain Gynae cancers too.

I sincerely recommend following on Insta- an amazing gynaecologist who also wrote the brilliant Gynae Geek book which contains everything you need to know about your body.

If you are experiencing worrying symptoms then donโ€™t wait, pick up the phone and book a GP appointment. Do it. Now.

Make sure you keep up to date with smear tests too. Trust me, itโ€™s not worth missing it.
