Can I suggest a very worthy charity for your pennies and pounds?
Action and Compassion for Tanzania, the charity ( of which I am one of the Trustees ) is looking to raise money for the building of a very much needed maternity clinic in Mtwara. A safe and clean place for mothers to give birth and give their child a fighting chance of getting through those critical first few hours of life. This is just one of our many ongoing projects in Tanzania. On a recent field trip by two of our committee members they have identified a coastal village with no water and a dilapidated medical room. Shallow wells have dried up leaving villagers with no clean fresh water. Contact with the village committee in December will see a new bore hole going in with complete access for the villagers. Continuing fundraising will see the Medical room be rebuilt and extended to include a birthing room as well as nurse/patient rooms. The situation is desperate out there and the charity is doing it's utmost for the people. Please follow the link and donate, no matter how small or large your donation it goes a long way. All importantly please don't forget to Gift Aid your donation, every penny the charity can get helps as 100% of monies is used on projects whether that be boreholes, school toilets, medical facilities or the HIV school/club. Volunteering in Mtwara: summer 2019

Thank you to everyone who has supported our work over the past 5 years. Your sponsorship has enabled our volunteers to carry out life-altering projects in Mtwara, Tanzania - including laying water pipelines which now serve over 4,000 people. Many thanks to volunteer, Alice Mealing, who has created this video showcasing the 2019 trip. We are delighted that Alice has taken up the role of Finance Manager in the recently established charity ACT and will be returning to Mtwara once again this year.
