END OF FIRST TERM - 2021/2022
For our General Secondary Education programs in the UK, we had our last online classes for the first term of this academic year on Saturday the 11th December 2021.
We hereby express our gratitude to our teachers, the admin staff and volunteers for their dedication and hard work. We appreciate all the parents/guardians for their support at all times. Without you, there would be no COMED. We say thanks to the pupils for their commitment before and throughout the term.
We shall return for the second term in January 2022. Please, note that registration of pupils has already commenced. Enroll your kids for our online KS3 and KS4 English, Mathematics and Science sessions without delay. More qualified and experienced teachers are coming on board.

MEET OUR FOUNDER/GROUP CHIEF EXEC
Ade Arogundade is the Founder/Group Chief Executive of COMED. He has more than two decades of top financial and resources management experience in all sectors of the economy predominantly in the UK. Ade is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Consultants, a financial and business management strategist, a learning and development professional and a multiple award winning community leader.

He has the experience of serving on the boards of other educational institutions, charitable organisations, a public sector scrutiny committee and a number of private sector companies in the UK.

Ade attended London South Bank University and Emile Woolf Colleges - both in London.

Many organisations had to carry out stringent measures they had never thought of in years. Many people lost relatives, close friends and loved ones. Even deaths not related to Covid were reported in this year 2020.

In all things, we have to give thanks to Almighty God. He is the ultimate decision maker. He knows what we do not know.

PART-TIME TEACHERS REQUIRED AT COMED

We require part-time evening teachers for our English Classes (KS3 and KS4).

Job type: Part-time (min of 2hours a week) - temporary with a view to becoming permanent

Experience: Minimum of 1 year teaching experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree in relevant subjects but experienced undergraduates may be considered

Salary: £10 to £20 per hour depending on qualification and experience

COMED - WHAT WE DO!
Community Education Initiative is a community interest company registered in England and Wales to provide the following services:
1. General Secondary Education
We help children of secondary school age (11 to 15 years old) with both virtual and actual tutoring to complement what they learn at school. We cover English, Mathematics and Science (KS3 and KS4).

2. Cultural Education
We organise training and development programs for the youths and adults who are keen to learn and know about African Culture and Heritage. We teach African languages especially Igbo, Yoruba and Swahili.

3. Educational Support Services
We work with other institutions in the sector to provide training and support in relation to capacity building for organisations (both within and outside the UK) that may be keen on continuous professional development for their staff; particularly, the senior management staff.

NEXT TERM BEGINS MONDAY THE 4TH JANUARY 2021
COMED online sessions have so far been very impactful for the kids. The difference between being involved and not is massive. We cannot afford to simply leave the kids without a bit more work after school. They all need it; that little extra push, so they can achieve their potential and thus fulfil their dreams.

This term finishes on Saturday the 19th December 2020. We are back week beginning Monday the 4th January 2021. We want to inform you that we will soon start processing registration of new students who will start with us in January.

POSITIVE FEEDBACK FROM PARENTS
We eventually commenced online tutoring with our KS3 and KS4 students on Saturday the 24th October. The Mathematics virtual class started at exactly 10am. Despite all the fear of having one or more technical issues, the session went on far more smoothly than we had anticipated. We believe we could even do better.

We wholeheartedly appreciate the parents who sent in their positive feedback comments. We will continue to seek for improvement.

Registration of students is still on-going. Please, do not hesitate to enroll your kids. Avoid further delay.
