Tweet, tweet…. I’m hungry, can you feed me?

A really fun game, designed to improve colour recognition and fine motor skills through play. To play - split the caterpillars between all players, then roll the dice and if the player has that colour caterpillar they need to use the wooden tweezers to feed it to the bird, through its beak. The first player to feed all their caterpillars to the woodpecker wins.

Yesterday we visited We do this trip every year and each time it’s bigger, better and Grace & Emily love it more 😊

We bought the full pass for a whole day there and we were there all day. Such good value. Our favourite part was the new Labyrinth of Illustrations - absolutely genius experience.

First/Last Day

I don’t like that time flies so fast. Grace & Emily finished year 3 & 2 yesterday and they’re looking forward to the summer holidays, although Emily has already asked me for homework!

Hercules Weightlifting

Who is the strongest - Hercules!

A great way to learn the weight relationship by moving the ‘weights’ on Hercules arms. The principle here is to place the coloured, wooden discs onto the pegs on Hercules arms and see how each affects the balance. A great little feature of Hercules is that his irises are attached to his arms, so as the weight balance changes, he actually looks in a different direction!

Great for developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, cognitive and logical thinking skills, whilst learning an understanding for heavier and lighter. There is a card which accompanies this set that demonstrates the greater lesser symbol too. This allows the > to explain than the < for more than and vice versa.

Block Boat

This is a fun small cargo ship loaded with bountiful goods, just like containers. The vessel carries 12 coloured magnetic blocks, in lovely pastel shades. Little ones can load and unload the blocks by transferring them using the flexible derrick. Citrus Fractions

A great way to learn all about fractions, the healthy way. This solid wooden board comes with a knife for cutting the fruit into fractions, along with slices of avocado, apple, kiwi, lemon, orange and watermelon.

Great for developing and understanding fractions along with numerical skills. By ‘slicing’ the fruit also encouraged are fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and real life skills.

Tropical Butterfly House

This weekend, we had a short break in Sheffield for a family event. We also took the opportunity to visit

Grace & Emily absolutely love it there and each time we are visiting GrandGrand, we get asked if they can go. Emily’s beloved crocodiles are slightly larger than last time 🐊. Grace most likes the tropical 🦋butterfly house.

New for us this time was feeding the 🦦otters. We had a cup filled with 🐟fish, muscles and a 🦀 crab. It was fascinating to watch the otters break open the shells and get a tasty treat.

Vintage Kitchen

This beautiful vintage style kitchen, designed in shades of green with floral accents, which allows your little one to enjoy playing with all the essential elements of a kitchen. There is a fridge, a drinks dispenser, a washing machine, a sink, a microwave, a job and an oven. Equally as impressive as the kitchen itself is that the tap turns, as do the k**bs on the cooker along with the buttons depressing on the drinks machine.

This kitchen is big enough to play with friends, developing their communication skills as they cook, wash up, put on a wash in the washing machine, and write a shopping list on the fridge. Flower Cottage

A pretty little cottage fit for a flower princess.

Flower Cottage is a beautiful little house, decorated with pretty flowers with a folding sunroof and a wall that folds down to become the garden. Little ones will love immersing themselves in small world play, as the numerous accessories let the little doll play on the swing, do some gardening or spend time at the easel painting away in the little garden.
