Cheeky Vimto Racing
A race team set up by my mum after having too many... yep you guessed it, Cheeky Vimtos!
I’m now running it in her memory after she lost her life to a racing incident during the Manx Karting Grand Prix in Peel in 2005
The team boss Harlan would just like to give a big full send to everyone that’s helped out with tyres so far this year!

Thank you for all your help!
Shout out to Brian at Top-Coat for the sponsorship and helping me out in the 2021 championship if it ever happens 😂
If you ever need anything painting to a full restoration look no further!! Brian couldn’t be more friendly or helpful!
Look how beautiful he’s made my chassis look 😍 unbelievable work and not only that he’s fast and reliable!
The 7th, and final round of this weird and wonderful season, which I’m not going to lie, didn’t involve much seat time in the kart. More action on the grass than anything!
After a lot of frustration with mechanical failures, and having the kart in bits many times, I eventually got out for the last remaining heat. Without much knowledge of the track conditions, I made some adjustments and went into the final at the very back of the grid (19th). After some hard pushing and breaking my personal lap record again, I made my way to 8th, which I was pleased with, all things considering!
A big thank you to Rob Birnie and Timmy Collins for the loan of a few spares to get me through the day, wouldn’t have managed to get back out there without you guys!
The 2020 season has had its ups and downs, but being my first season, I feel like it's been a year for learning, so am actually quite pleased to have secured 8th overall in the championship. I feel I have already progressed a lot, and that I will be in a much better place for 2021.
With that being said, time to make an announcement!
I’ve just landed myself with a new sponsor for the year, Mark Waggy at Mannin Grass Services.
With him and his teams experience and knowledge, and a lot of hard work and determination from myself, I hope to be producing some much better results next year.
Thank you very much Mark for the opportunity, I can’t wait to get started!

Well round 5 this weekend just gone was an eventful one to say the least..
What kicked off the day was Practice/Qualifying, when the seat decided to give way, ending with me on my Arse! I made sure I kept my helmet on though, so nobody could see me sulking!
Everyone else seemed to think I may as well have packed up and gone home, but that wasn’t going to happen was it! Luckily Bernard kindly lent me one to get me through the day and I was ready to go again.
Heat One wasn’t much better, the Engine wasn’t seeming to want to rev to its full potential, so took a look once I came back in, fixed the power Valve and hoped that would do the trick.
Heat Two came around and by this time, I was ready to get pushing on. I got going, Finally happy with the Kart, but feeling the repercussions of the seat malfunction, next thing I know, I’d managed to wedge the front bumper into another Kart, and the Bumper didn’t manage to make it out in one piece.
Heat Three, and a nice donor Front Bumper fitted (thanks Timmy for lending me it) What more could possibly go wrong? Luckily it seemed bad luck does just come in threes. I managed a lap time only .047 seconds shy of the PB I set last round. Can’t grumble at that, but definitely hungry for the Final!
Final time, and I’d had it set in my head that I wanted to break into 46 seconds I was getting so close to managing. A few laps to get going and then on lap 5, I managed to beat my PB from last round. The next few laps I kept pushing and progressing, before FINALLY, Lap 11, I broke out of the 47’s and into 46! Not by miles, but that was all the hard work (and Rib Pain!) paying off, I was so happy. Once wasn’t enough though, and managed another on lap 14!
Overall, a good days Racing! Thanks to everyone who took the time to come watch and help out!
Just have to keep up the 46’s now I’ve proved I’m capable!
Great weekend racing and getting my fastest lap yet. Not bad considering the engine hasn’t been touched since 2005 😂
Some fresh rubber made the kart controllable round the corners all that’s needed now is a fresh engine 😝 thanks to Jamie for a donation making the fresh rubber affordable 😬 Anyone out there that fancies making a new engine affordable send me a message 🤪

Also a massive thank you to WARPAINT for sorting the fresh paint job on the lid!
A very slow lap of the Jürburgring with damp conditions and some old wets Timmy kindly lent me. Can’t wait for it to dry up and to get some proper laps in!
If there is anyone willing to sponsor some tyres feel free to get in touch!
The newest member of the team is loving his team hoodie 🤘🏼only 3 more years and he’ll be a driver! 🏎💨
A quick clip form last weeks practice, lots of room to improve and perfect. I can’t wait to make it all happen and for the season to start, roll on the 8th March for round 1!
A new year, a new kart, a new class and a new personal lap record of 47.89 🏎💨
Today was the first proper test session that turned out to be productive and to finally break the 47 barrier is a nice accomplishment to finish the weekend on! 🎉
